If it's hitting the needle plate, try installing a new needle. If it is still hitting, then it needs adjustment. Take it for service.

My husband bought me a Husqvarna Viking Opal 690Q sewing machine. In one of the videos it talks about an extension arm for quilting. Where can I purchase one and how much are they?

You can probably contact a H/V vendor. Otherwise, you can also purchase some table extensions to fit your model machine from vendors like Sew Steady Table. You select the make & model and the size you want and they cut it to fit.

How do sew a straight line on a viking 6360?

You may need to service the machine. One thing to check is the feed teeth are at least 1mm above the needle plate on the highest setting. You can remove the needle plate and check if there is lint keeping the teeth from rising. The upper right knob controls the stitch length set it at 3 for normal sewing. 6 would be a longer stitch.

Husqvarna #1+ sewing machine, is breaking needles under throat plate

This could be bad timing, or the needle is not in properly.
Make sure that the needle is pushed up all the way, and in the correct position. If the needle is too low, it will break.
Also, keep the bobbin case door open to see where the needle is catching.

Needle hitting stitch plate on my Viking Lilly 545 recently had it serviced, was sewing fine

try a new needle
if the needle is still hitting the needle plate, then it's possible that the machine is out of time and needs to be adjusted, or there is something wrong with the needle bar.

The material will not advance in my Husqvarna Viking 775.

The first thing to observe is if the feed teeth are coming up above the needle plate. Remove the presser foot and unthread the needle, then rotate the handwheel (always towards you, never away from you) and check to see if the teeth come above the plate. The button next to the on and off switch drops the feed teeth, so make sure it is in the up position. Pushing on it when its down makes it pop up and then after the machine makes one revolution the feed teeth pop up for normal sewing. Also look on the left side of the machine and you'll notice a dial, that dial should be on 6 for normal sewing. If everything I've covered so far is correct, the dial is on 6, the teeth do come up above the needle plate and your plate is correctly on the machine and you still don't have feeding it's more than likely a computer problem and a service to your tech is in order.

Problems with lower thread tension

Did you bend the throat plate? I have done that and it was a nightmare. I took it off and gently hit it from the backside with a towel over it to bend it back the way it was. It worked fine.
