Shut the breaker off! These are the exact symptoms that a tenant of ours reported for their range. I went to check the range and found that one of the power wires on the terminal block in the back of the range was burning itself up. It had actually started a small wire fire. You need to pull the range out of it's hole and unplug it. Remove the panel in the back above where the cable goes into the range. Examine the power wires and terminal block carefully, because I bet you'll find one of the wires is burning up and needs to be repaired. Please write back and let know what you find.

SOURCE: Cooks too hot
It would SEEM that this pot has a nanufacturing problem, where the thermal switches, that actually cycle the unit off when it reaches a certain temperature, are faulty...right from the factory. Its common to get a run of faulty thermal units, and is often seen in Coffee Makers.

I may need more information, however, I suggest that it could be either a dead magnatron or the high voltage fuse link to the magnatron. Check "Demo" mode, WARNING: if you try and replace the fuse or magnatron yourself, make sure of 2 things, 1/ unplug from the wall 2/ make sure the HV Capacitor is discharged before touching anything around the magnatron....also, I may need the model and brand for better diagnosis... It's probably a fuse or thermal cutout (TCO) in the unit.

common cause of water boiling over when you cook pasta is if you cook it with
the lid on the pot. Don't cover pasta fully with a lid. Either cook it uncovered
or if you are in a hurry to cook it quicker, just partially cover the pot.
Also make sure you don't overfill the pan with water as this is another cause of overboiling.
