You can download the service / repair manual here.

Most computers will open the manual automatically, but you may need the free Adobe Reader.

It will give you safety info, step by step help in disassembly, troubleshooting tips, and reference numbers. Unfortunately it does not give you part numbers for some reason...

You can find & order parts from Encompass here or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

I would first check the fuse and oven thermostat.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Accessing some components (especially the oven cavity thermostat) for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall and take off the outer cover.

If so, the installation instructions here are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

Once the fuse and oven thermostat are known good and the microwave functions, if the lights / fan still won't work or won't shut off, then you have a problem with the control board.

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so.

At our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

The lights can can be inoperable or stuck on or no bright, too. Sometimes this will similarly affect the exhaust fan operation or inside light, too.

You should check your light sockets for a short, too.

SOURCE: I've replaced the fuse three times in my GE over

NO, MW can be LEATHAL.. If a fuse is blowing that means that you have a Phase to Earth fault BAD. In all likelihood the mangnetron is failing, or perhaps even the Power Supply is faulty. You need to have it serviced by a reputable service centre/man.
Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before proceeding, and remember these days the cost of repair can equal or exceed the price of a new one.Yes they are right.

On the touch pad numbers 3, 6, 7 and 0 dont work

sounds like the touch pad control has failed ... there is a touch pad on this unit and also a control board located behind units touch pad... you can gain access to this by unplugging unit and removing console that houses touch pad /clock assembly ... once removed the only test there really is to do would be with power off remove ribbon cable to touch pad and make sure clear of any dust /debri and reconnect there are 2 small holes in ribbon cable that are used when reconnected fir into small slots and firmly connect... if that doesnt fix i would recommend a new touch pad... not sure what area your located... there is a distributor for sharp in dallas ,texas called

Microwave just stopped working one minute working one minute no power no display (about 20 years old) can we troubleshoot and repair ourselves?

sounds like fuse may have blown..if light doesnt come on inside then that is possibly what is wrong..the fuse is inside the case and u have to take the outside off to get at it...make sure the power cord isnt plugged into the wall and do not touch anything else inside the unit ..there is a big capacitor inside that can give a very very bad shock....or the logic board is not good..if that is the case then it is not worth repairing

No power cannot turn on

Inside the unit behind the control pannel is a ceramic fuse looks like a car glass type fuse. To replace it you must remove the outer shell. First unplug the device,2nd
place on a flat work area,3rd remove the screws from the back of the unit,4th pull the outer shell back if it's stock a flathead screwdriver can be used to aid in removal,5th after removal look behinde the control pannel find the main power wires by following them from the back of the unit the fuse will be about 1" long and about as big around as a #2 pencil remove it carefully and replace it with a new ceramic fuse. The fuses are about $3.00
If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself find a repair shop it will cost about $35 dollars
Hope this helps

Doesn't work

Sounds like your magnetron has failed and was going bad for some time.

I would contact Bosch to find their nearest authorized servicer.

If it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

If it's within the magnetron portion of the warranty (usually 5-9 years) but out of the original full warranty (usually 1 year), then your manufacturer will cover the part cost, but not the cost to visit you or the labor charge to do the work.
