Chain sprocket hangs, can turn it past the hang by hand but after 3/4 turns it hits the snag again

Hi Drew:
Let's see if I can talk myself through this.
If you dropped the saw off with that problem described here's what I would do:
1) Remove chain and bar.
2) Put bar in vise and hang chain on it, then slide the chain through the slot to make sure that none of the "slides" on the chain were bent. If I found any I would repair or replace them.
3) If roller tip' I would spin it around, make sure it was clean, and lubricate.(There is a "pin hole" grease point that you use a baby grease gun to inject grease)
4) Turn drive sprocket. If it has a "catch point" odds are that one of the clutches or springs has a problem. Temove and service or replace as required.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Here is a tip for reviving a NON-"O" RING chain that is rusted & mud riddeled.

First you need to get these items,
  1. On old pan (not mums' good one),
  2. Some high melting point grease,
  3. Some degreaser/cleaner & brush,
  4. An old container for cleaning the chain (not mums' best tupperwear)
  5. Appropriat clothing, Closed footwear, long pants, long sleaves, protective eyewear & gloves.
  6. A piece of wire to make a hook.
  7. An apropiate way to heat the pan. (not mums new Kitchen)
  8. PARENTIAL PERMISSION/SUPERVISION WERE APPLICABLE
First clean the chain in the degreaser, using the container ,
soak & leave an hour or two.
Then hang the chain on wire over the container until dry,

Now heat the grease in the pan just until it melts, DON'T BOIL IT

Using the wire, place the chain in the pan for two minuites and then
(using gloves), place the pan somewhere you can hang the chain over it.

Using the wire, hang the chain over the pan and wait till it cools.

Now your chain is lubricated like it is straight out of the box!!

My kitchen aid mixer bowl falls out when I'm mixing

Hello Heather,

Either the grooves on the bowl lock plate are worn out, or the grooves on the actual bowl are worn out. I would start with replacing the bowl lock plate. Here is a link to the part: KitchenAid Mixer Bowl Lock Plate 4163032

This part is really easy to replace, it is held into place with three screws, remove those screws (make sure to hang onto those you will need them to re-install the new part). then you should be able to pop the old plate out. To install the new plate like up the screw holes, and press into place, sometimes you need to lightly tap it into place with a rubber mallet as it is suppose to be a very tight fit.

Once that has been replaced your bowl should lock into place tightly. However there is always a chance that the bowl has been worn down and may need to be replaced. Here is a link to the 4.5 Quart bowl: KitchenAid 4 5 Quart Stainless Steel Bowl

Charlesnapostolou@yahoo.comI went to flush my Toto toilet and it would not flush. I took the cover off and discovered that the chain was still attached to the horizontal bar but nothing else. To what do...

There is a piece thats actually called the flapper. It is a rubber flap that has a hing on it and is attached to the bottom of the tank. When you flush, the chain pulls this flap up and allows the water to go out of the tank into the bowl. Attach the chain to the unhinged side of this flapper. Hope this helped.

Gas is leaking from behind front section of chain. what's back there that could be leaking and how do i fix it

Probably carbs overlowing, overflow pipes from the carburettor-s will hang out from below the engine, thus if the float valve sticks in the carb the fuel will overflow away from hot exhaust, you will have to follow pipe up to the offending carb remove float bowl and inspect and clean float valve, you will have to remove float and inspect the valve and its seating for dirt or varnishing which is caused when fuel is left for a prolonged time within the carb

Toilet runs slightly, can minimally depress the handle to release a bit of water, and it will stop. How to fix?

Toilet runs continuously or doesn't flush adequately

Jiggling the handle might work for a while, but if your toilet is always running or doesn't flush adequately, you need to perform these simple fixes that usually can tame a noisy, inefficient toilet.

Check the Chain

The chain attached to the rubber flapper often becomes loose, causing incomplete flushing and/or continuous running. To fix it, remove links from the chain using needle-nosed pliers until it's tight.

Check Water Level

Improper water levels can also cause problems with your toilet. This can be fixed by adjusting the ball ****, which is located next to the overflow pipe, the open tube to the right of the handle. Adjust the ball **** so the water comes to ½ " below the overflow pipe.

Clean the Surface of the Flush Valve

A continuously running toilet can also be the result of a faulty flush valve. Because the valve is made of rubber, it can decompose or warp allowing water to escape from the tank into the bowl. Clean the sealing surface to see if this will improve the seal. If too decomposed or warped the valve may need to be replaced.

Replace the Flapper

Remove old flapper and replace with a suitable replacement. Attach the flapper to the overflow pipe inside the bowl. Then attach the lever chain from the flapper to the handle lever making sure the chain is taut.

How do you remove inner tub to get to the outer tub of Fisher & Paykel gwl11

You need 2 people for this.. Unscrew plastic wingnut down the centre of the agitator.(2) undo 2 phillips head screws under little rubber covers just under lid at front top edge.(3)lift top of machine like a car bonnet, get someone to hold it up for you.(4)Unclip big round plastic ring on top of the bowl, you may find its attached with a spring at the front left hand corner, just lay the plastic ring over front of machine & let it hang. The bowl should just lift straight out.Be carefull, the outside of the metal bowl is like a cheese greater trust me! PS when you put it back together & you lower the top of the machine(make sure that little white plastic lever hanging down) the right hand rear go's outside the righthand rear of the tub NOT squashed on top.Its an out of balance lever & it needs to dangle outside of the bowl/tub right rear.GOOD LUCK!

My 5.5hp honda is surging even with the belt off.is this carb. only or are thier orther factors, such as bad gas

Bad gas can cause the engine to surge, but also the carb bowl and jets need cleaning. I usually drain the gas, remove the bowl, wipe inside the bowl , and then use a carb cleaner to spray the float and jet/s. The float may be hanging up. It would be best just remove the gas and clean the bowl area and float/jets. I wouldn't think replacing the carb. is the problem.
