My mom's telkom line not working for a week and she stays in an old age home and this is her only communication. telkom ref no 565CTZ121216. plse help

Ted, there may be a difference between the two systems as you have observed. The designs are different from refrigerator to refrigerator and with the Kenmore, you're also dealing with multiple manufacturers. So, you can have a LG, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Maytag, Samsung, etc. Kenmore doesn't manufacture any major appliances - they just stick their label on the front. I would keep an eye on it but the main thing is the temperature regulation. If it's regulating at the proper temperature I wouldn't worry about it.

Telkom cables are either faulty or stolen, and Telkom refuses to replace the copper cables and refuses to put Fibre Optics in our area.

You might want to consider getting a cellular hotspot device. For example, I use AT&T... I live out in the countryside and there are no hard wired Internet providers in my area. With this device, I can access the internet on AT&T's 4G cellular network. The device alone is $100 and your monthly bill will be determined by whatever GB package plan you feel is necessary for you to do what you need to do with it. Copy and paste link into your browser bar...

My land line has been out of order for three weeks (ref no. 73crz301016). How long do I still have to wait before I get any response from Telkom ?

probably until you start yelling at them to get something done
call them and ask for a refund on the next bill for unuseable phone connection for the period of the downtime
that may get a allocated fix date /time

Telkom faults

Telkom :They could'nt solve my problem properly for over 6 mths.It was an on & off issue - only thing they was send out acc.every month. Eventually they ran 2 acc.nos. for the same phone no.I eventually cancelled my line & settled for my cell.
Keep a proper record of all calls made to them --
date -time- person u spoke to-& insist on a keep your acc.bills.
They are not very helpful but are quick to threaten u with legal action.
