WE have 5 of the 1275H models in our home. They are from 2002. Now they are chirping and we need to replace them. What is the difference between 1275 and 1275H?

turn on the .AC. power. The green A.C. Power On Indicator should be lit when the alarm is operating from A.C. power. ckeck to ensure the power did not trip the breaker+. If you more than one and this is the only one chirping replace it, units have a life span of 5 years. remove unit an look at the expiration date. if it was me I would buy a new one. they are not expensive. home dept Lowe's or amazon
When our Kidde hard-wired smoke detector "chirps" we have to purchase a replacement unit.
Your local hardware store or home supplies store should carry them. We remove the hard-wired smoke detector and take it to the store to compare to make sure we purchase the right model.
It would be nice to know if all the detectors are the same model and/or manufacturer. I have been in a number of homes where the smoke alarms have been replaced one at a time resulting in different models. If possible, please add a list of the models involved and ages of devices...if more than 10 years old, replace the unit.
if you have serpentine belt and is chirping this means the belt is loose and probably cause of all the trouble, adjust tension of belt or check belt tensioner, or replace belt.

The cam syncro will cause that noise . Listen for the noise near the back of the intake . I have replaced alot of them after someone else replaced the belt and pulleys for the noise. Good luck.
