along the sides or the center ? if on the sides check the picture format and see if it changes. If its doesn't go away sound like u might have a defective IC on the ribbon cable that plugs into the plasma panel

    SOURCE: I get this blue stripe down the right side of the page

    Open the doors to locate and wipe off the green shiny roller really well. Spin it and wipe it off all the way, especially on that right side. Pull out the cyan toner and wipe it around where the toner comes out. Check other rollers for blue marks and wipes those off as well. Lit free cloths work best but I just use a damp paper towel and then a dry one.

    SOURCE: multi coloured vertical stripes on plasma screen

    I had the same problem and I fixed it on my LG plasma

    This how I done it.

    Take the back plate off
    At the bottom you should see a metal solid plate, behind that plate is the ribbon connectors for the vertical picture.
    Be carful not to brake them.
    Look for any that may not be fully connected.
    My one looked like they were all connected but actually the last one was a out just a little.
    Try pulling them all out and reconnecting them.

    Worked for me.
    Good luck

    Would like to tell you that there is nothing wrong with your PS3, but it's the T.V that is causing the problem.

    Unfortuntely, the only thing that will cause a thin line or two is the lcd panel assembly. The cost to replace this would be really high so the best you can do is put up with it as long as you can, then replace the set.

    Apologies on the bad news but i must be honest with you. I have seen this with all makes of both lcd and plasma tv's

    Sreen is black

    It's probably a problem with the connection of the PS to your tv. If the connection setup is right, and you still get no sound or colour, connect the PS3 to the TV using the standard-def A/V cable provided in the packaging and press and hold on the power button for about 3 seconds when you start up the console. After that, you can change the display settings to an HD connection and connect the PS3 to the tv using an HD cable. (That is if you want it in HD)

    Grey cable in dash

    Hi again,

    Appreciate the update and additional information. If I understand it right, your vehicle then has two connectors at the back: 1 big black/red/gray plug:
    • Yellow/light Green - always ON B+12;
    • Yellow/Black stripe - ACC B+12 goes to the IGN switch;
    • Black - chassis/ground;
    • Blue - remote trigger for add-on amplifier (if connected);
    • Blue/Red stripe - illumination (can go to parklight switch).
    and the 2nd smaller gray 8pin plug:
    • White/Red Stripe Right Front +
    • Brown right front -
    • Green Left Front +
    • White/Orange Stripe Left Front -
    • Light Blue/Black Stripe Left Rear +
    • Yellow Left Rear -
    • White/Blue Stripe Right Rear +
    • Light Blue Right Rear -

    You should connect your TV to an Active DtH Connection or a Live TV Cable or even to a working DVD/VCD Player etc. and tune it to the frequency of the same and it should start working. If it doesn't, please contact Service Center.

    Hitachi 42EDT41 plasma model-1" black stripe on right side

    This is an old post but maybe it will help others. You will have to take the back off of the TV. On the bottom you will see ribbon cables coming from the screen and connecting to 3 PC boards. Take the screws out that holds the cable down. Underneath you will see 4 resistors marked 100. All you have to do is re-solder the resistors and your vertical line will be gone. You need to be good at soldering or you could damage the ribbon. The only ones that you have to re-solder is the ones in line with the lines on the screen.

    Well did you try the 3 coloured plugs thats connected to the PS3 the problem with the PS3 is that the 3 coloured plug is abit heavy so it goes down you mite want to adjust the plug so that it doesn't make the screen turn black or w/e.

    If these are thick black lines, this is most likely line frequency noise entering the set. you may have a leakage from the DC ground on the secondary side of the powersupply to the AC side, or a bad filter capacitor(s). Most of the time it is the filter caps that give these types of problems. If you are connected to cable TV service, or an outside antenna you can also have this problem from an AC ground loop return. Also if there is a device such as a VCR connected to the TV and it has problems, it can cause this as well...
