I strongly recommend calling sony and having them repair any issue because it is under a year and still under warantee. However since that is not the question, here is a video guide to disassembling a PS3/

Taking the lid of any console is not advised as it is not like any computer and you will break your warranty. If there is a problem with the ps3 then you need to send if of to sony, if the warranty is not void they will most probably fix it for free giving what the problem may be.

My 4 year old put a gamecube disk in my ps3. i got it out but now the ps3 wont pull the ps3 disks in. how do i fix this problem?

Well your disc drive is out of alignment kind of a hard subject to explain so please dont rate me low. Its more then likely the top of your disc drive is not aligned with the bottom of the disc drive you need them to be aligned so it will take discs in and out. Theres gears on the bottom of the cd drives lid. They meet with gears on the top of the bottom part and if they arent aligned they will not accept disc right. Take it apart and with the cd drive lid pulled up hit eject. This will bring the bottom part of the drive into place. Then just easily lay the top part back down and it needs to be directly from the top not side ways. Then when you have your ps3 cd drive lid on you can try to see if it accepts discs right. If it does your good to go if not you need to mess with it a little more. If you need more help explaining just ask I will try to find you a video showing how to do it.

After having trouble with disk ejecting, that was resolved im now having trouble feeding the disk

Ok the ps3 cd drive top and bottom are synchronize together to work together. You need to take the cd drive apart again hook it up to the ps3 without the top lid of the cd drive on and press eject. The simply put the cd drive lid on directly from the top not to one side but directly down ontop of the bottom part of the cd drive. Then down put any screws in start missing with the disc see if it goes in and out. If you still hear odd noises you can do it this way 3-4 times until you have the top lid aligned with the bottom part. Or another way a little more difficult is get the disc drive to have a disc in it and take the cd drive apart. Then with the top part in your hand slide a disc in the top part and hold the disc through the middle hole with your finger and simple place it back on the bottom part of the drive. Its an easy fix but a little hard to explain if you still need help let me know. Also it could just be your gears needing greasing. You can use a qtip and any thick greasy solution. I've used baby lotion **** paste vasoline all of those at diffrent times when I couldnt find anyhing else and that will fix it.

Hi I have a ps3 slim and it just recently stopped ejecting my disks.when I press the eject button the ps3 makes a clicking sound but nothing comes out.but if I turn it off then back on it makes the noise...

He is full of **** trying to scam you. It sounds like your disc drive is out of alignment with the top part of the disc drive so the clicking your hearing is the bottom of your disc drive trying to eject and the top is holding its on as the top has sliding parts that meet perfectly with the bottom part of the disc drive so it sucks the game in and out. You need to open it yourself with a philips head screwdriver you dont have to worry about the motherboard or any other part just take the drive out undo the ribbons connect the drive to the motherboard then it should pop right out. Been awhile since I took a slim apart they dont break as often (yet). From here you should have a metal caseing over the disc drive maybe not with the slim. You pop the metal caseing off the you have a plastic disc drive. Take the top part off maybe requires small phillips screw driver. Since you have a disc in it when you take the lid off hook the cables back to the ps3 motherboard and to the cd drive. Now press eject with the top lid off. Then put the top lid back on and insert a disc it should work. Then just put it back together. Theres a little motherboard on that cd drive do not short it out on anything. You can do this if you cant worst is youll have to buy a new cd drive from the repair shop you mentioned. Then they should charge to much labor to put it back together as you had it apart when you got there. But you should beable to do it if you need help taking it apart just google or youtube slim ps3 disc drive repair or how to take apart slim ps3. Hope this helps if not let me know.

The discs won't get go into the playstation3

If your ps3 disc drive still makes sound maybe the top lid of the disc drive is not in the correct spot. Have you opened it before? Thats how the disc drive will get out of line. If you havent opened it before it might just need a good cleaning and lubricated. How to fix it if its out of line is to take ps3 lid off take disc drive lid off hook it up and place a cd in it and let the drive accept the disc then put everything back together with the disc in the disc drive. Now it should work right.

The system is not reading any games

Hello there,
The reason your system is not reading any game is because the lens is not working, to fix this, follow the steps below;
  1. Unplug the power cable, video cable and controllers and remove any discs from the disc drive
  2. Remove the rubber foot on the left side of the PS3, unscrew the security screw and slide off the top lid.
  3. Unscrew all nine screws under the lid and lift off this section to reveal the inside. Be sure to unplug the cable that connects to this lid before completely removing it.
  4. Remove the gray box. This is the Blu-ray drive. Disconnect the power supply and the cable connecting it to the motherboard
  5. Remove the five screws on the outside of the Blu-ray drive to remove the metal shell.
  6. Remove the next set of screws on the black plastic cover to gain access to the inside of the Blu-ray drive. Disconnect the red and black cable to pull the two plastic halves apart.
  7. Remove the cables and brackets and screws holding the laser in place and slide off the laser module. Be sure to check the model number on the laser to make sure you purchase the right replacement model.
  8. Replace with new laser module, reverse your steps and reassemble the PS3.

THIS CAN BE SOLVED IF YOUR PS3 IS OUT OF WARRANTY
The yellow flashing dot of death does normally mean that your PS3 is Dead but there is a way to fix it

My PS3 would not start and the indication light just flashed between yellow and red
Your options are: New PS3 £250, PS3 from Sony second hand £150 or £5 fix
    1. Undo the screw below the warranty sticker in bottom of PS3
    2. Slide the lid of
    3. Remove all bolts
    4. Remove all main components until the mother board is free from the unit
    5. Remove the thermal gel on the back of the 2 main chips to the heat sinks
    6. Clean any excess dust by blowing away do not use and dusters or leky equipment
    7. Level up the m board and heat over all the board with a heat gun, needs to be really hot to melt the solder but not damage the board or components
    8. Allow to cool and turn over repeat the above
    9. Buy some thermal gel online and replace the gel removed of the chips using a credit card
    10. Once cool after 15 to 20 mins replace all the components and PS3 Lid
    11. Run a fan test on your ps3 (turn of at the back hold down the eject disk button and turn back on keeping the eject disc button held down until fan starts)
    12. Turn you ps3 on and bam your back on COD or FIFA (add wadhapa)
Hope this is of some help but this is only recommended if your PS3 is out of warranty and you are not sending it back for a Second hand Sony one

    No power to my PS3

You need to go onto ebay and purchase a ps3 power supply... any one will work. Then you need to void the warrenty seal and pull the rubber piece out. you need a special screw driver or a smaller flat head to unscrew the screw and slide the lid off.. it goes left to right and might need a bit of force the first time you pop it off. once the cover/lid is off you will see another cover that has 6 screws in it.. take them out... look at the back of the ps3 push up on the lid and push forward. This way it will unlatch and the sides and the front of it will unhook.. like opening up a book
you will see the disc drive on the left and a chrome box on the right of the ps3. The chrome box needs to be unscrewed. There is the card reader that will need to be unscrewed but you wont need to take it off just move it and make sure not to pull the cable out!

Ok now if you are looking at the ps3 with the chrome box on the right I want you to look all around the chrome box on all sides.. there may be wires attatched to the side with white tape... take the tape off... I almost ripped it out once. (its only taped to the box and does not actually go into the power supply) Ok now unhook the wires from the back and the front.. one goes into the mother board and the other goes into the back of the ps3... then put a new power supply in.. I have to go and this was a quick how to hope it helps!
