SOURCE: hisense 42inch lcd tv

It sounds like it's the inverter panel which lites the lcd back light.
If it's under warranty, try to replace it, or take it in for svc.

SOURCE: we cant get a signal on the tv and it wont work

If the tv powers on correctly, then recheck all wire connections (including ac cord) are in proper placement and fit. Make sure the DVD is working properly and is connected properly to the tv. Visit the tv menu and check all settings for input signal. Be sure to have the correct "input source" set on your tv.

SOURCE: i have a 50inch lg ready tv but wont switch on red

Sounds like it started "Protection Mode" because of a failed electronic part inside the TV. When this happens, the TV will keep turning itself OFF or will not turn ON at all. This keeps the other part inside from being damaged. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The common part to go bad for flat panel screens circuit board that powers the screen. Most manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can again try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you red light blinking codes, circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searching on the internet with the part number.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Pull up older posts. If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. Mitsubishi PD 5050 does not show HDMI

I have a client with a PD 5050 that just stopped recognizing HD signals through HDMI and component. It does seem to accept a standard composite signal. We replaced the TV. They had me haul away the old one, and I'm trying to find out if it's worth repairing.
Interesting that it was right around the date you posted this question. I bookmarked this page to return if I find out anything.

I have a fairly new Hisense ltdn24v86us television. The menu keeps popping up in front on my picture and it prevents me from watching tv. Almost any button on my my remote will make it go away but it...

Go into the television settings menu and look for something in the section that the pop up box mentions. I had a Sharp television that made the box pop up if the stereo signal turned to mono due to lack of audio strength. If you turn off the error reporting, the box will stop.

You can also Google the make and model of your set and look for the manual for clues.

This article has a neat fix for you and thinks it is sticking buttons on the remote or the set. Take the remote out of the room for an hour. Press all the buttons on the side of the set.
