SOURCE: lights on bottom row fast farward, stop, fast

Do these controls still function? If they do it looks to me that it might be bad connections, that might need soldering. They don't look like they are bulbs from a picture I can of it on flicker, more like LED's.

SOURCE: Although I placed both ends the necessary sensing

I'm pretty sure the auto-reverse is NOT supposed to work during recording. What would be the point since it only records in one direction?

And I'm pretty sure there's only one reverse sensor, usually to the left of the heads and not necessarily on a tension arm. The sensor foil is supposed to be on the non-oxide side of the tape so it will adhere better and never contact the heads.

There's a knob for how the auto reverse. Is it set correctly? I believe infinite forward / backward play is possible if you have the knob set properly, a sensor foil on the tape and the tape counter set to 0000 at the beginning of the recording.

How to check if Auto Reverse Works

Play a tape to the end. If it reverses, it is working properly.

Make sure that you have turned the auto-reverse feature on. The switch is next to the power button.

Akai gx-625 reel to reel tape deck has no sound

This could be a head fault? Another possibilty is the preamp stage. You will need to look for something that would take out both channels. Such as an IC.

Technics SU-G91 OVERLOAD PROBLEM

THe amp has detected a problem and shutdown to prevent further damage. This unit has 2 amp pacs inside and one or both have failed. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. The main amp pac is an SVI3206 and can be purchased online for about $60.

Keep me posted.
