PC World would be your best bet, failing that get in touch with the manufacturer and see if they can send one out to you.

I would remove the heatsink and fan, clean the processor surfaces with methylated spirit or isopropanol, use new heatsink compound and that should fix your issue. Yes yes, heatsink pipe should get hot!

I have a problem with my ideapad S10-2 heatsink fan. It started making a terrible sound and it never stops! How I can turn-ff or disable the fan?

Do you know when the fan and heatsink was last cleaned for dust?
It could also be the fan that is faulty. Does the laptop turn off frequently and get hot?
Unfortunately, as for disabling or turning the fan off, it will make your laptop stop functioning as all laptops and some other electronics need to vent the heat produced by itself. Hope this helps.

Fan stopped working on my N61 model of my laptop,going ot replace the heatsink and fan myself instead of dealing with customer support, just unsure what parts I need exactly.

If the fan stopped working then you only need to replace the fan. There's no need of replacing the heatsink as there's nothing to break on it, it's just a block of aluminum and a copper pipe embedded on it. So, just do a search on eBay or Amazon for a fan for your N61JQ laptop, this shouldn't be more than $50. Just make sure you're getting the fan from a company, and make sure it's a new one. You don't want to end up with two broken fans.
On the other hand, as a temporary solution, you may want to get an electronics lubricant spray and lube up the inside of the old fan. This may prolong the life indefinitely but you will need to open the laptop and clean up the heatsink radiator often, about once every two months or even more often, depending on the environment you work in.

If this was helpful and informative please vote with a Thumb Up. Thank you.

My HD 4850 fan is not spinning correctly. It will spin normally for a few moments, then make a cranking noise, then start moving extremely slowly, and sometimes it even stops. Now it is not even spinning,...

Your heatsink fan on the graphic card is failing and the motor is going down hill, now saying it has completly stopped..,.. that means the fan motor is done for and need to be replaced to avoid further damage to your graphic card. Would reccommend you not using your graphic card until a new heatsink fan is replaced otherwise you can fry your GPU and suffer a complete loss.

I have ASrock P4vm800,Prescott800,Pentium 4 Pro.But i need a help.When it is powered up nothing happenes except the system unit ligth up,& chassis font panel ligth is blinking Continously.Cpu fan...

There is a verity of things you can check & or replace. You mentioned the CPU fan is not turning. This is very very important.
This suggests possible CPU fan is defective. Average life span for a CPU fan is 5 years or 50,000 hours. Your MB uses Intel PGA socket 478. For a replacement heatsink & fan assembly open the link provided;
http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-A4012-Cooler-Intel-Socket/dp/B000FEW8JW/ref=dp_cp_ob_e_title_0
A new heatsink assembly will come with a new fan attached to the heatsink.
It should also come with new thermal past or thermal tape attached to the bottom of the heatsink assembly.

As to the front panel LED light blinking continuously.
If the LED light is red in color this means your primary hard disk drive is trying to load windows.
My suggestion is for you to replace the CPU heatsink assembly first.
No need to remove the CPU from its socket at this time.
If you never replaced the Heatsink & fan assembly watch the video included below;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OB1hxxKdec
Once completed your system should function correctly.
If it doesn't, post you’re finding here & I'll help you further.

Cheers'

I need to change the processor fan in my mothers sony Vaio desktop, but I can't figure out how to access it.

Pop the side of the case off, it either uses screws or has plastic retention system. Then you will see a main fan over the CPU heatsink. Unscrew or unclip the fan. Install the new fan. If the fan is literally attached to the heatsink and cannot be removed then you will have to buy a whole new heatsink from www.newegg.com 10-30 dollars (comes with a new fan as well). If you remove the whole heatsink make sure you have thermal paste to reapply to the processor and heatsink. If you email me a picture of the inside of the case i can help you. letzfly777@gmail.com Hope that helps!

Have a 4wire motherboard for fan/heatsink on dell 530 inspiron

No need to buy a new fan, there are addapers to fix your problem.
Go to a good pc-store or order one from the net, the addapers are cheap to buy.

Good luck

Trouble shooting

OC failure = over clocking failure. Make sure the CPU fan is clean, free from dirt & dust. Check CPU fan plug is connected correctly. If the CPU fan still stops after a few seconds replace the CPU fan.
It's harder to find just a fan to fit your heatsink, which sits on your CPU. It is easier to find a new heatsink \ fan combo for your Intel. Use your manual to find what Intel chip is on your board. Use that information & search google for a heatsink & fan combo. Pay close attention to how your current heatsink is mounted to the Gigabyte board.
