Philips 50" DLP 50pl9126d/37 won't power on.

My DLP has never worked - it came brand new, has never stayed powered on for more than 2 hrs at a time. After that, the power supply/tv hard-resets at least one time, at most 3 times before going completely off-line. After that, the power light flashes six times, pauses 2 seconds and repeats ad infinity. The only way I have gotten the unit to work again is to leave it unplugged for at least 48 hrs and then restart it.

Philips hired someone to come to my house and work on it 6 seperate times before writing it off as a lost cause and telling me to get a new one. So far as I know, they replaced everything inside the unit.. with the possible exception of the bulb.. Has anyone heard of a bulb causing this problem?

Did you install the bulb yourself? It sounds like now you have a power board problem with the TV... but it may be that that bulb is just somehow "faulting" and is causing the picture to not come on. If you didn't install it yourself I would call the place the installed it and complain of the problem... it is very likely that it is related.

Let me know,
Tim

Why does my philips 50pl9126d/37 flickers

Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time.

Where is the power board for a phillips 50inch model #50pl9126d/37

Hello

As far as the lamp stays lit for a few seconds, all other voltages comes to the lamp and inverter board are OK. If the lamp has reached its life time, this type of fault can occur.

Phillps tv model number 50pl9126d/37 what is the red light mean

It depends on whether you are able to see a clear image or not. check the lamp first if its more than 2 yrs old you may need a new one, last one we checked with the problem you describe had a fan running slow. The fan nearest the lamp needs to run correctly or the tv will shut down. Good luck !

Unplug unit and remove lower back panel should be 2 screws on each side and a few across the middle. Pull panel back and you should see a black box with metal folding handle. Remove the two left screws and pull out.
