SOURCE: Need to know how to adjust the door auto lock function.

Not an easy fix! The door lock function was designed to lock doors only. you can however, disable this lock feature by simply cutting the light blue automatic door lock signal wire on the 6-wire harness plug connector located on the chime module (In component center).

Only gravity keeps the door in open position. You can try to tilt front down by loosening the top mounting bolts.

Sears garage door opener model 139.53919

The torsion springs might need adjustment.

Pull emergency release, and manually lift door to half-open position.

When you release the door, it should stay in place.
If it almost "slams" down, the springs are not doing their job to "balance" the weight of the door itself.
The opener isn't designed to overcome the weight of the unsupported (no spring assist) door.

Over time, the springs take a "set", and might need a readjustment
The springs are under tremendous pressure loading, and can even kill someone if they do not know what they are doing!

They balance from the top brackets.
You can adjust it to get it right,it will take a bit of time but it can be done.

Adjust timing on honda but runs rough under load

I would guess your timing belt has jumped a cog or two, and should be replaced. When you aim a timing light at your harmonic balancer, the marks should stay in one position. If the marks are jumping around, your belt has jumped.

Needs proper adjusment procedures

Check if your garage door is properly balanced. Pull the red handle to release the door and manually open it. It should stay up when opened all the way. Next, pull the door down to waist level. It should stay there. If not, the lift springs need adjustment, and that may be why the opener keeps reversing.

When you open door, it goes up fine, but when it gets to the top, it doesn't stop at the normal spot, then it disengages and the door releases and comes crashing down. Then you have to reengage it, in...

You have a couple of problems. First if the door comes crashing down, it is not properly balanced. The door should stay in the up position by itsself. Next, the limit settings are off. there are two white screws on the side of the opener. Adjust the screw labeled up. Turn it one full revolution "less" and try the opener without the door enguaged. Continue to adjust if necessary. If this does not work, take off the cover and look at the white nylon gear and see if it stripped. There will be white shavings in the bottom of the cover. If it is replace with a "liftmaster gear and sprocket assembly". Issue two is door balance. Raise the door manually. At each hinge point (the roller is in the radius part of the track) the door should hold itsself up. If it does not, your springs need to be adjusted or replaced. Most springs are designed for 10,000 cycles so if they are over 8-10 years old, they are ready to be replaced if you use your door regularly. I dont reccomend adjusting the springs yourself. It is exteremly dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. I hope this helps.

Opening theGarage door manually

two problems. why aren't inner and outter trolley connecting. did you leave rope is disconnect position. Second problem is door springs do not seem balanced. you should be able to lift door halve way up and let go. it should pretty much stay there; go up or down slowly ok. fly up or crash down; need to adjust springs/cables or maybe wrong springs.

Side by side GE profile freezer door pops open

It almost sounds as if the magnetic gaskets aren't as they should be.

Most all combination units have a path between the two parts of them to allow circulation of air, the amount or rato of which, is controlled by an adjustment that really just makes a duct larger or smaller so temperatures can be balanced to fall within the range needed by each.

Check to see if, when closed slowly, the gasket surfaces are parallel to the steel of the housing.
If not, there is normally a little adjustment possible at the hinge mountings.
