Question about Bose Companion II Computer Speakers

Open Question

Bose Companion Speakers wont play itunes

Speakers work when I plug them into my iphone but not when I play them from my normal computer and am playing itunes.
I know the speakers work, why wont it play from itunes?
I just moved from a PC to a MAC, migrated my whole library which plays fine, just only plays from internal speakers. Help!

SOURCE: Bose 3 Companion Voltage

Hello people, I have a problem and was hoping you could help me with it.
I have bose companion 3 speakers and not thinking i plugged them into 220 input instead of 110. They don't seem to work anymore. I am trying to open them up to see if there is something i can do.
But it seems impossible to open them up. The screws on the back dont do anything... and there is one big golden cover underneath which i cannot open.
Does anyone knows how I can open or fix them up?
Thank you

SOURCE: Speakers only play cd's

Please look in your Start Menu, go to Control Panel, then into Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices. See near the left, and select Advanced Volume Control. Turn up the inputs for the other sounds that you want delivered out to those speakers. Later adjust the levels a little higher if at first the mix of the sounds is not quite loud enough from one or several of the sound sources. Also in Control Panel, Sounds, you can mute out or eliminate annoying unwanted system sounds such as sounds for minimize and maximize a computer window, and the click that occurs when the computer does Complete Navigation -which it does a lot. Go into Sounds and Audio Devices, and into the Sounds tab. Select the Windows Program event such as default beep and click pick NONE from the sound chooser scroll bar that is just below. Scroll up to NONE to eliminate that sound. Now your overall sound experience will be more pleasant, without unneeded sounds playing loudly, unexpectedly.

Is there any system to which you can connect your BOSE *and* have it work?
If not, then check that the BOSE is getting electrical power into it.

Hi _ I got a new set of Bose Companion 5 - is working fine with my PC Windows Xp service pac II. suddenly the speakers go off wehile playing music & I have to restart the comp to hear music ?? Cant...

Try another set of speakers to eleiminate the BOSE speakers as being the issue (even cheap ones will do). If the problem does not re-occur, the issue is with the speakers.
If all the speaker jacks are plugged in correctly, I would consider returning this set, as it looks like the issue is within the circuitry of the Woofer

Just got new Companion 2 series II speakers and they work for system audio but not my iTunes. HELP

Fascinating, make sure you have the absolute latest edition of I Tunes (I've had experience with people not being able to play their library without having the newest version.) If you have a good internet connection then you may want to simply un-install Itunes and do a completely new download and install. Make sure the volume slider on I Tunes is not all the way down. Also if these don't work try going to your "Sound" applet in control panel;
-under the playback tab click the properties button (be sure your speakers are selected)
-move over to the advanced tab
-be sure both boxes are checked under exclusive mode:
(allow application to take exclusive control of this device) and (give exclusive mode applications priority)
I hope some of this helpful. Thanks.

Computer speakers play CDs or iTuners, but no system sounds or online sounds. Computer does not recognize that speakers are attached, so I can't adjust volume. Everything worked normally several months...

this is an issue with your soundcard. the easiest thing for you to do would be to go and pick up a cheap internal soundcard ($10 - $200) and just use it instead.

Another possibility: make sure both speakers are at least ten inches away from any router.

Itunes downloads jump is it a problem of computer

What you're describing sounds like it would be a problem with your media player, which in this case would be iTunes. Try playing music through another media player ( Like Windows Media Player ) and see if music still jumps. If it still does, then it's a computer issue, if it doesn't, it's just iTunes. The music jumping shouldn't have anything to do with your speakers.
