There are several reasons your dryer will not start.
1.) Bad door switch?
2.) Plugged up with lint?
3.) Thermal fuse?
a.) On the back of your dryer is a hot air distribution manifold. It is easily un-bolted to remove. In the bottom of this manifold dryers get plugged up with lint. If you have a air flow problem your unit will shut down.
Your unit will also not run if you have a bad door switch.
But, here is where I am going to put my money on as your problem.
High limit thermostat on your heater element in the back of your unit.
- The thermostat is functional to 221 degrees (Fahrenheit).
- Install the thermostat in your dryer's heater element housing box. Be sure your dryer is unplugged during installation.
This High-Limit Thermostat part #3977767 Cost: $15.00
You can replace this part yourself.
Get back to me if this does not solve you problem. You cab jump the door switch.
