There are usually access panels to replace lamp, it may be inside oven or on outside case or you may need to remove cover to access lamp,be careful especially if you need to remove cover, even after its unplugged

I have an amana convection/microwave model acm1580as that needs a lamp replaces. I bought replacement lamp and after practically tearing appliance apart I located burnt out lamp. Now I don,t know how to...

Hi, since you have located the burnt lamp, all you need to do is to unscrew the burnt lamp and replace the new one by screwing it in.....
You only need to unscrew to remove the lamp and if you cannot remove by unscrewing because it is stuck in, then you need the assistance of an electrical tech to help remove with his pliers....

When I was unscrewing a burnt out hood lamp on

I would not use the lamps. Sounds like there is a shortage in the wiring for the lamps. They lamps should run together, and if one of the sockets have a short or burned wire it will not let it complete the circuit. This could be a fire hazard, so I would replace the whole microwave. It would be more trouble to tear it apart and find the exact problem than it's worth.

Goldstar Microwave - it will come on, spin the carosel, but will not heat food and the clock works.

usually when this happens, it is because of the voltage regulator for heating unit, which basically works like a "radiation distribution unit", which is where the term " nuking your food " comes from. these things just "go out" at random and there are really only 2 options you have.

#1 spend close, if not more, than what you paid for the microwave, to have it repaired BY THE MANUFACTURER.

#2 go buy another microwave.

my advice? take option #2, because it is just easier.

Lights fan and carosel do not work

tricky one. common denominator to all parts not working could be open neutral track at back of the circuit board, or possibly a relay not switching correctly.Need testing equiptment for that.

GE JVM1440WH01 Will not heat, everything else works. This unit is 6 years old and just stopped heating. The carosel turns, fans work, the timer counts down and lights come on when you start cooking or open...

It could be a number of things, Burnt connections between the magnetron, Capacitor, Diode and transformer, Heater connections loose or burnt, Transformer, Capacitor Diode or Magnetron US. You need to strip it and find out if you are getting about 2000volts to the Mag, Are you getting approx 5volts across the heater terminals?? NOTE that the 2000 Volts can remain in the cap indefinitely and the voltage is LETHAL. IT WILL KILL YOU if you don`t take precautions. Ian

Over the range Frigidaire Microwave not heating. Model FMT148

This is a sure sign that the MAGNATRON needs replaced (this is what heats up the food) if every thing else works but food not cooking! 99% of time it is the magnatron!

Does the turntable rotate? If everything but this works (except no heat), you probably have a bad door switch. Here's a discussion of what's involved in replacing it: http://www.fixya.com/support/t267796-kenmore_microwave_hood_combination_over

If the turntable does rotate, I'd suspect a more significant failure, such as the transformer, capacitor, or magnetron. If it's any of these, it's time to replace the unit.
