The model number should be on a label where the mains goes into it. 1-8 sounds like a microwave timer unless it is Gas, so Gas Mark 1 to Gas Mark 8?

I see what you mean. I could not pull up this fryer. Does it have a Model #?
Another thing to try is to research the problem instead of the fryer.
They may have different names but sometimes the problem may be generic fix or the problem will lead to finding the makers manual.
