Is this information not contained in the manual ? If you have no manual, you can download a manual for almost any equipment by Googling the make and model followed by the word Manual, then follow the appropriate link(s).

I have a tasco #302003, it is a reflector model. Obj diameter 76mm, focal length 700mm. Could I see the moon surface? Which eyepieces do I have to use for it? Many thanks in advance.

Yes you can see the moon and the bright planets. It's very simple to calculate magnification.

Divide the focal length-- 700mm by the number written on the eyepiece. So if it is a 25mm eyepiece then:

700 divided by 25 = 28 power

If it is a 10mm then 700 divided by 10 = 70 power.

Either one will give you a good view of the moon. Your scope has about a 3 inch mirror so the maximum possiible magnification if everything is PERFECT including the sky is about 50 times 3 or 150 power.

Image is upside down - why?

Yes that's correct. All astronomical telescopes show upside down images. Nothing is wrong with the scope.

You can buy an "erecting diagonal" for terrestrial viewing.

302003 tasco manual needed

Yes, there is already a link posted on Fixya-

This appears to be a small 60mm refractor style telescope on an equatorial mount. The mount must be polar aligned in order to use it properly. Beginners should never buy an EQ mounted telescope as their first telescope.

However I have instructions on aligning the mount on the star Polaris on my profile page in the TIPS section. Read those instructions, and find a local Astronomy club. The members can help you with that telescope.

I have an older model tasco telescope. The number on it is 302003. It has the eyepiece and it seems everything else it needs but I cannot see through it. I either get a reflection of my own eye or just...

Is this a reflector or a refractor style telescope. Does it have a MIRROR in the bottom?? or just a small lens in the front of the tube (refractor)????
