Hi I am so sorry that you are having so much pain. I have heard that exercise is helpful and that if you strengthen the hip muscles it helps with the leg pain.

If you have a blockage in veins our arteries, pls do not go for any surgery.because that will loose its originality & will surely give problems in the future. There are alternative painless, medicine-less very effective treatments. You can also contact for a satisfied treatment.

I had a stent inserted to my femoral artery 10 years ago. Am again experiencing pain when walking and think the stent may now be blocked. Can stents be removed and replaced?

fixya site is not a medical forum
The best person to ask is the doctor who did the surgery in the first place
normally stents just hold artery walls open and if you did not follow dietary advice then , it is possible that another artery is blocking up or the same one blocking up after the stent
see a doctor asap

I have 100% blocked carotid artery on right side and doctor said no surgery. I need some dental work down properly teeth pulled on right side will that be safe. I am taking aspirin daily

First, why did your Dr. say no surgery? Second, I think I would get a second opinion on the surgery. Lastly, Be sure to tell your dentist about your condition. And continue taking the aspirin. Typically, they will do surgery at about 75 % occlusion.

My doctor told me that I might need to have surgery to fix my snoring problem. He said they do something to the tissue in the throat. Does anyone know what this surgery is? It sounds pretty horrible.

The surgery itself has a really long name - uvulopalatopharyngoplasty which is often called the UPPP for short. The surgery involves tightening and trimming any excess tissue from the throat as it's the excess tissue that blocks the airways and causes snoring.

Possible side effects of the surgery are;

Nasal Congestion

But it can also bring long term benefits, so it's a good idea to discuss your concerns with the doctor and ask what other options you could try before you opt for surgery.

How should you feel for a victims pulse

  1. 1 Use your right index and middle finger to check the pulse on the left arm of the subject.
  2. Step 2 Press the radial artery that you are trying to feel firmly with your index finger. The idea is to partially occlude the artery which will increase the volume of the pulse just proximal to your index finger which is underlying the tip of your middle finger.
  3. Step 3 Feel the pulsation with your middle finger by gently touching the skin while maintaining a firm pressure with your index finger.
  4. Step 4 As soon as you feel the pulsations, look at the clock and start counting number of pulsations. Count for at least 15 seconds and multiply the number by 4. To be more accurate, count for the whole minute.
  5. Step 5 Normal pulse is around 72 beats per minute at rest, however anything from 60 beats per minute to 100 beats per minute at rest is also considered normal.
  6. Step 6 Besides the number you should also check the rhythm or regularity of the pulse. Irregular pulse is almost always abnormal and can be due to number of heart conditions, such as Atrial fibrillation or heart block. Pulse may be increased in fever. Athletes may have a pulse as low as the 40s, however, that is considered normal.
  7. Step 7 Sometimes, despite all the correct techniques, you may still not be able to feel the radial pulse. In case someone has collapsed, the most appropriate area to look for the pulse is the carotid artery, just behind Adam's apple in the neck. Other arteries that may also be used are the bracheal artery (in front of the elbow) and the dorsalis pedis (proximal to the first web of the foot).
