Question about Panasonic KX-FP141E Plain Paper Thermal transfer Fax
On receipt of a fax, the paper rolls itself up with the thermal ink film and jams the machine - both the paper and film end up winding around one of the guide rollers. I have read the instructions 100 times and believe I have loaded the film and paper correctly, but it happens just about every time. When the thing does try and work properly, the message is faint and incomplete. Before I throw this machine out with the trash, I thought I'd have a go at getting some help. We live in a remote location with no technical support available anywhere nearby.
Thanks in anticipation.
The best thing you can do, short of launching the thing into inter-galactic travel, is to clean all of the plastic parts of the machine with an anti-static cleaner. Particularly, the roller that feeds the paper and the carbon roll. Remove all paper and carbon film and unplug the machine. Clean inside the paper housing and the feed rollers before turning it back on. It sounds like a build up of static electricity, a common problem on such thermal based fax machines. Remember, the paper has the propensity to curl because it is on a roll, so any extra help it gets will send it curling like mad. Good Luck.
