My feed dogs all of a sudden will not feed the material through. How can I fix it?

Please provide specific information regarding your Bernina model. The older "mechanicals" do require frequent oiling--not just at the hook, but throughout the machine. (When they made these old machines, they didn't really consider that the machines would still be going strong 20, 30, or even 50 years later.) Could be the oil surrounding the feed dogs has dried and is preventing the parts from moving.

If your Bernina is a newer computerized model, you should probably take it for service.

NOTE: The mechanical machines use a different oil than the computerized models. Be sure to get the correct oil for your machine.

The jagged teeth on sewing plate are not moving to move the material forward. U will have to look under the machine to check out the mechanism that is supposed to move them and find the part that is the cause of no transmission of power to the teeth assembly.

How can i keep the feed dogs from dropping when I sew?

Need more info. What kind of Bernina are you using? Feed dogs normally go up and down when sewing to move the fabric forward. Is that what you mean? Or have you lowered the feed dogs to do free motion quilting or darning and now they stay down?

Something is wrong with bottom thread. It makes a mess of thread under the material when sewing. It seems to cut the bottom thread about every 5 inches and continue on.

First check that your needle isn't bent - it sounds like it may be dragging against the back of the hook. Dont 'pull' the material through - let the feed-dogs do that. Probably best to get it checked-out by a competent Bernina agent

My bernina 1004 feed dogs wont move when switch is put into drop position.

Not completely sure about your B. 1004 but in my model Bernina, the feed dogs are lowered so the fabric can be moved by the operator, like when free-motion quilting. The feed dogs don't have contact with the fabric, there's no need to move.

I have a bernina 707, the drop feed knob appears to be stuck and the stitch picker eg zig zag etc moves but dosent seem to change anything. whats going on and how do i fix this?

Warm up the area of the knob with a hair dryer to see if this will loosen the knob.

If it has been a while since the machine was serviced by an authorized Bernina tech, the gears can be gummed up with dust, lint and old lube.

I have an 1130 bernina and love it! with all fabric types the top material is not moving along with the bottom material when sewing seams. the lighter fabrics are puckering and the seams are anywhere...

The 1130 does not have a consumer adjustable presser foot. Check to be sure you are using the correct presser foot .Some feet are slightly different in height which is how the pressure is regulated. If this is not your problem it will need to be seen by a technician.
