No problem... Barbara Bryant,

As soon as your older device trys (and fails) to log in... it will automatically ask you to INPUT the "CORRECT" password
and you are done!

Hope that helped

You can't put letters on the number pad but you can change your password to be made up of letters. You do this by going to settings, security, then at the top of the page it will say number pad or something, you click on that, then follow the instructions.

Need USB power cable for laptop cooling pad

I suspect you're probably looking for a micro USB B male plug for the cooling pad with a male micro USB A plug on the other end of the cable, which you would plug into a computer or AC/USB wall outlet adapter.

There are also cables which plug directly into the wall outlet and have the right male USB plug on the other end, but they tend to be harder to get and many times are more expensive.

Bios

1) Remove the AC adapter (Charger), and main Battery.

2) The CMOS Battery is now referred to also, as the RTC Battery.
Real Time Clock

3) Turn the laptop over, bottom side up.
The large rectangular cover in the middle, is the Memory Door.
Loosen the screws, lift on the Memory Door; on the screw side.

The RTC Battery is a coin-cell battery, in a plastic holder ('Bag'), with two wires coming out, that end in a small male plug connector.

Unplug the male connector from the motherboard, remove the RTC Battery.

Past this point cannot tell you exact location of those jumper pads.
Usually under a piece of Mylar plastic.
Often under the Ram Memory modules, or under the Wireless Module. ('Card')

The RTC Battery helps retain that password.
However there is also a capacitor, or capacitors; that hold a trickle charge - INDEFINITELY, after ALL power is removed.

Briefly touching the aforementioned jumper pads, relieves this stored trickle charge.

Scroll down.......-> Service Manual

Hmmm, looking for jumper pad information I ran into this;
Looks like the jumper pad method will not work either,

Read post -
applebook - 29th June 2008,

"There is no way to reset the Bios on the new Latitudes. Removing the power and PRAM battery does nothing. Everything in the Bios is contained in the EPROM flash chip and keyboard ROM chip. The E series uses a chip that cannot be reset by jumpers either."

Next plan of attack is to take;
1) Drivers license, or some other valid form of identification
2) Proof of purchase
3) Credit Card
4) Laptop

,down to nearest Dell authorized repair shop, and have the resident tech obtain the Master Password from Dell.

The Master Password will be used to either;
A) Create a new password
B) Eliminate the password

Tech keeps the Master Password.

I bought Boston Acoustics MediaTheater Computer Speakers as part of a package with my Gateway computer about 12 years ago. I would like to use the speakers with my IBM Think Pad (laptop) that runs on...

A male to male audio cable should work depending on your laptop, but don't think you would need a driver. I used a male audio to male RCA and hooked this to my TV and works great.

Dell Latiture D600 Touchpad not working!

Have you downloaded and installed the latest glide pad drivers from Dell?

Upon starting your laptop I would enter the bios setup screens and navigate the startup screens using Alt+P to find the pointer settings and set your or check that yours is using Glide Pad only, If you so choose to use an external USB travel mouse, this setting must be changed to Serial only.

Once, you download and install the latest drivers for the Glide Pad, and by the way, the Glide Pad on the D600 series is its only weak link in an otherwise best in class laptop.

To access the sensitivity settings for your Glide Pad after installing the new driver or in your case this may be reinstalling (I have to do this way to often) open Mouse within Control Panel and the last Tab is your Glide Pad. Here you can change a lot of the property values for things like sensitivity and double tap scrolling etc. Your mention of the mouse traveling up and to the right in most case is normal for this laptop.

Here is the link for the Glide Pad driver update. If this link has expired, here is the permanent location. Just click on the download button on this page. Download and move to a unique folder as the file name won't be of help. Move to something like c:\software\Dell\Glide Pad\

Acer aspire 9300 backdoor or bios password

Clear Password
PIN Pad: Bypassing Password Check, Keep shorting G3 (2 triangle pad) as above PIN pad and
then powering on the system will force the BIOS to clear Supervisor and User passwords. That
means both the power-on and setup passwords are all cleared.
