New battery for Kindle Fire?

Step 1 - Back Case

  • Wedge a plastic opening tool into the lower right corner of the Kindle Fire.
  • Pry the case apart and run the plastic opening tool along the perimeter of the Kindle Fire to release the clips securing the case halves to each other.
  • If you are having extreme difficulty inserting the plastic opening tool, carefully use a metal spudger to undo the first clip, then switch back to the opening tool to avoid scratching your case.
    • It is helpful to pry the bottom of the Kindle Fire away (and out from the side) from the top part. Exerting too much force attempting to split the two without pulling away can cause the tabs on the inside to crack.
Step 2
  • Once you have freed all the plastic clips, pull the back case off the Kindle Fire.
Step 3 - Battery
  • Fit the tip of the plastic opening tool between the right battery cell and the Kindle Fire's frame.
  • Lever the battery up and work the plastic opening tool down along its edge to release the glue securing it to the frame.
  • step 4
  • Repeat the process from the previous step to free the left battery cell.
Step 5
  • Lift the back of the battery up to relieve any tension in the battery connector and simultaneously use a spudger to push the battery connector out of its socket.
  • Pull the battery out of the Kindle Fire.

The Kindle Fire will not turn on, correct? Let's try a hard reset.
Step 1: Unplug the device from the charger
Step 2: Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
Step 3: Release the power button, then press and release the power button normally, the Kindle should wake up
Step 4: If the Kindle does not wake up, find an alternate charger or go down to Radio Shack or Staples and get a new charger
Step 5: Plug in the new Charger to the Kindle for 12 hours when done leave the Kindle plugged into the charger

The kindle won't turn on

It is possible that your Kindle Fire's battery has died. If you noticed the battery life diminishing before it wouldn't turn on at all this may be the case. Here is a site that has replacement batteries for the Kindle Fire:

My kindle got wet by a big wave in the ocean won't turn on any suggestions

Check if your battery has any voltage.
Try a different charger or try to power up your Kindle with a different battery. If that fails too, you have a logic board issue. Amazon2_bing.gif should give you a replacement. If you're out warranty, you can try to open it up and clean any corrosion you may find inside. If that fails you need a new logic board. You can get the part at Kindle Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to open a kindle and install parts at Kindle Repair Guide.
