Question about Sony VAIO Notebook

1 Answer

Bought a Sony Vaio laptop model #: PCG-8112L, service tag# C3LQTH9H, serial number: 28272434 3000373 second hand. I am trying to find a factory recovery disk set for this computer. Orginal owner did noit create a disk when he unpacked it. The built in camera does not work. I have searched many online forums with zero luck. Is help available?

Here is an URL for a website that you can order your Recovery CD from:

http://restore-disk.com/RestoreDisks/Sony/SonyVaio/Sony-Vaio-PCG-XG29-PCG-8401-Vista-Driver-Recovery-CD-146481.html

You might want to call either Sony themselves or a Sony repair center. Sometimes, even though the recovery cd is not created the first time the computer is run, you can still either create the cd, or load the recovery information for a hidden partition. Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

HAVE TRIED CHANGE THE CMOS BATTEWHAT CAN I DO NXTRY TO REMOVE BIOS PASSWORD BUT IT COUDNT WORK,?

Sony Vaio PCG and some Vaio VGN Series use the last 7 digits of the laptop serial number to calculate the bios master password. The serial number for a Sony Vaio is often located on the bottom of the laptop on a white sticker. The serial number may also be found by removing the battery and checking in the battery compartment. The link to unlockbiosrecovery.com below works on the following models:
PCG-C, PCG-F, PCG-GR, PCG-GRS, PCG-GRT, PCG-GRV, PCG-GRX, PCG-GRZ, PCG-N, PCG-NV205, PCG-QR, PCG-R, PCG-SR, PCG-SRX, PCG-TR, PCG-V, PCG-VX, PCG-X, PCG-Z, VGN-B, VGN-FS, VGN-S, VGN-T, VGN-TX1, VGN-X
I use http://www.unlockbiosrecovery.com/Unlock_Sony_Bios.php
For $20 they use the last 7 digits of the laptop serial number to calculate the bios master password and then email it to you in an hour. They guarantee it to work and you can call them if you have a question.

I want the pcg 394L camera and microphone driver

Hi Saurav,
PCG 394L is the service tag number. You may need to refer to your product again to determine the actual model name. Model Numbers are usually located on a sticker located on the back or bottom of the unit. They may also be listed on the product manual.
Based on the service tag you have provided, the model number might start with VGNFZ.

How to download sony vaio pcg-7g2l drivers

Mr Felnuz, PCG-7G2l is the serial # and not the model #.

Model Numbers are usually located on a sticker located on the back or bottom of the unit. They may also be listed on the product manual.

You can also find the model # by clicking on start, select run, then type"msinfo32" in run.

Press enter, there you can see the system model.

Model # starts with initials VGN.

Once locating the model #.

Visit this website to download drivers.
