My husband converted our 27 x 52 round above ground pool over to saltwater two weeks ago and we have yet to be able to get in it to swim. We drained all 18,700 gallons, scrubbed the liner and refilled the...

Wrinkles in your pool liner wall is a slight problem and can be a place for algae to grow, BUT can be treated and cleaned.. Algae will appear if your not providing the correct amount chlorine, regardless of wrinkles or not.. Let me tell you how I take care of my 14,500 gallon 18' X 33' X 48" pool using only the 8110 Intex model and hope you can apply some of my techniques to your pool and system...
In the 2 years I've own my system, I have not added any chlorine, even for those times my system failed and water turned green.. Yes.. I could have bought SHOCK and CHLORINE and added to my pool to kill the algae, but chose to vacuum, brush and set my chlorinator to max and did it without buying any of these expensive chemicals.. It took over 3 days to finally see results after running my system at at 12 to 14 hrs pump and 10 to 12 hrs chlorination.. After my pool cleared and chlorine level was at optimal, I lowered my chlorination to around 6 to 8 hrs.. Right now that the temperature is around 95 degrees, I run the pump for 12 hrs and chlorinate for 10.. My chlorine level is slight low and today I plan to raise my chlorination to 11 hours.. My pool water right now is crystal clear and clean. I vacuum my pool daily and check the electrolytic cell weekly for optimal results..
Now...you have a huge above ground pool, almost 19,000 gallons!!! To start.. you should have added almost 500 lbs of salt!!! and ran the pump only for over 24 hrs to properly dissolve the salt..
Next, you should test the water salt concentration level and should have been between 2000 and 3000 ppm. After the proper level and because your pool is so big, run your pump at 12 hrs or longer and possible 10 to 12 hrs chlorination...
You said the manual vacuum sucks up the liner??? They sell a nifty device that hooks up at the end of the hose and attaches at the skimmer inlet that has a relief spring activated door that prevents sucking up the liner and also, you may to look for a different vacuum head???
Bottom line... NO, the only way to clean the algae is NOT with vacuum and brush only..It could be done with SHOCK and CHLORINE.. I chose not to add shock and chlorine to mine.. But you will need to vacuum the dead algae and clean you filter several times..One more thing... I hope your chlorinator is big enough for your size pool.. The max gallons the manual shows is for a 14500 gallons, like mine... Good luck and hope this info helps...

My salt water pump keeps saying low salt. I have had the water checked and there is plenty of salt. I have cleaned the cell and it still says low salt. The pump is on;y 1 year old. I dont know what else to...

I suggest you clean the cell according to manual and try it then. If it keeps producing chlorine then keep swimming. If the pump is flowing water fully (if not clean baskets and filter) and it can't keep the chlorine above 2 ppm and you have 30 to 50 ppm stabilizer in the water then there is a major problem in the chlorinator. I don't trust the salt indicator on some chlorinators but that is less important than if it chlorinates. You can but salt test strips. I hope this helps.

Intex salt water chlorinator I added a higher flow pump and chlorine levels seem low no matter how many hours I run the chlorinator

your pump has nothing to do with chlorine generation.
You need to get a salt test kit that reads in #'s not colors.
Now get your salt to 3000ppm or as close to it as you can.
The amount of salt reccomended in the manual is just a starting point
any lower than 2800 and you will not produce enough sanitizer and over 3600 and your pool can go cloudy, taste bad, and rust metal parts

I opened my pool a couple of weeks ago and filled my Hayward CL200 chlorinator with 3'' tablets. I usually set the dial on 2 with good results. After over a week, the chlorine level was nill in the pool....

A CL200 Involves direct injection of chlorine into the pool. Water passes through the chlorinator and goes to the pool with chlorinated. WIth the 200 (Not the 220) I've only seen a handful with problems over the years with chlorine not dissolving. If the chlorinator is not leaking, and the control valve is moving freely here's what I'd recommend.

1. Are you using a new type of tablet?
If so remove the tablets and place into a floating chlorinator.*** WARNING Wear Rubber Gloves, while handling wet tabs****
Dial it all the way open. If the tablets don't break down at this point with in a day or two, They were over compressed at the factory, potentially have to much filler (most slow tablets should be 95-99% cholroine) or the water is too cold ( below 70 deg. This should not be an issue in July) If this is the case switch brands.

If the chlorine is dissolving in the floater but not the chlorinator it could be one of the following.
1. Make sure the direction on the chlorinator is correct inlet (from Filter) to outlet (to pool)
2.. In some of the newer 200 chlorinators there is a built in check valve you can see it in the bottom of the chlorinator You will notice a threaded piece in the bottom that contains a white plastic ball the size of a pea. If this ball does not move freely to the touch, odds are the filler in your chlorine has clogged it from moving, thus preventing the flow of water from dissolving the chlorine.
You can check this by removing the chlorinator from the pool, removing the lid and pouring water directly into the top. If you do not see water passing through to the "Outlet" side of the chlorinator a clog is most likey your problem.
I've seen clogs cleared with wire coat hangers and hot water. Be forewarned that hot water being poured into a chlorinator will cause the any residual chlorine to gas off, make sure you do not have you face over the chlorinator when you add the hot water and you do so in a very well ventilated area. A straightened wire coat hanger can be used to dislodge any obstruction in the check valve and "get the ball rolling again"

Hope it helps.
