Question about Magnavox Televison & Video
A disc error may be due to having the wrong type of DVD in the player, having a dirty disc in the player or the disc having scratches or cracks. When it comes to the type of disc, it must be compatible with the DVD player for it to work.

The JVC DR-MV1S DVD Recorder / VCR Combo does not suppport DVD+R, only DVD-R, -RW etc.
At least mine only supports these formats, as when I first bought mine, I got some blank DVD's they were DVD+R.
I recorded a movie onto one on my PC, then tried playing it in the JVC unit... no go!
Instruction manual (available for D/load online) proved to me that I could not play +R disks!!

I am just wondering whether the unit has got condensation inside.
Just try to do this as a process of elimination.
Take the dvd and place in a warm room.Plug it into the mains (try and eject disc if not leave in) and leave for 2-3 hrs
Give it another try..fingers crossed.

usually this happens when lens cannot read the the disc. Due to few reason
1 Your disk is scratched
2 Your DVD lens is covered with dust
3 You need to replace DVD lens
Try another few CD/DVD to rectify whether there is any problem with dvd you are trying to play
if this error occurs on all the dvd you played then the most likely proble is with your DVD lens either its coverd with dust use Disk cleaner if not you got to replace a new DVD lense as per model

SOURCE: Magnavox NB500MG9 BluRay Player
A Blu-ray player can play DVD or CD and still not play Blu-ray. It may play Blu-ray but not CD or DVD, or burned discs. This is all caused by the 'optical' a part that reads the disc in the machine. Your player will need service as a Blu-ray optic cannot just be 'dropped' into a player.

Testimonial: "good answer I upd soft, cleaning the lens izopropil but I can not read only regular dvd the service guy was asking for the same price like the new one"
SOURCE: my magnavox dvd stopped playing.
The lens only the laser may need to be cleaned that reads the dvd. That's what I would try first. Also, make sure the dvd is clean and not scratched too bad. If neither of these are the case, then you probably have a bad
