Repair. Remove battery ASAP. Open up and shake water out. Leave to dry in a warm place. Install new battery. If still doesn't work, give to a television repair engineer.

Remove the batteries and place the controller in a bag of dry rice for about 48 hours. Then look inside where possible to see if it looks all dried out. If so, replace batteries and try it then.

What to do if my remote gets wet

If it got wet with fresh water, take the batteries out, dry what you can with a clean towel, and let it and the batteries dry thoroughly. Put it in a sunlit window for a day or two. Better yet, put it in a bag of uncooked rice.

If it was salt water or something else (juice, coffee, etc) then it's tougher. Again, remove the batteries, dry what you can, clean what you can with fresh water, then dry everything and cross your fingers.

The remote has stopped working even with fresh batteries.

Some times your remote gets wet are if its to old you need to take a little sand paper and take out your batterys and lightly sand the battery springs and that does help always make sure if you have a universal remote make sure you hit the tv,vcr, dvd botton. before you hit the power botton the led light that you target at your tv make sure that it has not been hit are as been broken if it has it will not work at all

Salt water is VERY bad, worse than fresh. In the words of Clint Eastwood, "How lucky do you feel?" If you are SURE its dry, and it won't start(don't try unless it is dry), if its is not an expensive camera, its time for a new one. I hope you tood the battery out as soon as you realized it was wet. The batteries do not tolerate a short circuit very well. It is possible you only have a dead battery, too.
