SOURCE: I cant open my laptop

first, you need a service manual in order to completely open your laptop. The service manual has diagrams and directions, that's why it is recommended. It is also from Dell, the manufacturer, so the directions are accurate.

Click on the link below to have access to the service manual from dell the manufacturer.

When the link opens, you will find a list of topics in blue. Click anyone regarding what you want. For example, since you want to work on the fan, click 'fan' and you will find directions on how to remove and replace the fan.

According to your second question, yes, you can use another fan as long as it fits and as long as it's the same. It doesn't necessarily have to be from dell.

Have the fan removed first, then use it as a sample to get something similar. You can go to any computer/laptop parts/accessories store within your vicinity/area for a fan replacement.

I hope the above is clear. If it's not clear to you, please let me know for further direction.

Regards, Walesarumi.

Clean the computer Fan, vents, heatsink. Improve air flow from the bottom air intakes through the Laptop and out the vents. Overheating will cause your Laptop components to fail. A can of Compressed Air sprayed into the fan, vents will help. Sometimes you must open the laptop to clean thoroughly with a small brush and the air.

Alienware m15x fan noise problem

Get a can of compressed air and give a good blast to open ports and cooling fans, this may resolve the issue, if not the fan will need to be replaced. I do recommend the computer be taken apart down the road for good cleaning.

What is the processor fan speed for Dell Vostro A860?

This could be the result of to much dirt build up in the heat sink ports blocking vital air flow. Buy a can of compressed air and blow it on fan any open ports, this should prove if the fans the issue, the speed should slow down because of increase air flow cooling the laptop. If this works the machine should be taken apart for better clean out.

My dell computer keeps shutting down every 5 min or so. I cleaned th fan and still the problem happens. I bought this almost 4 and a half years ago.

You may have cleaned the fan but have you cleaned the metal cooler (heat sink) under the fan? Its better to remove the fan from the heat sink and hoover it out, then refit the clean fan. Also hoover out the power supply vents too. Also make sure any case vents are clear too. If you think overheating is the problem then run the pc with the case open and if it runs ok then overheating is the problem.

Need to remove fan from dell inspiron 1525

Just done one of these...
Open the bottom cover by unscrewing all the screws.
Ther are 5 screws holding the heatsink and fan assembly onto the board, remove these in diametrical progression (ie: remove by slackening opposite screws).
Unplug fan from the board
Lift the heatsink and fan assy away from the board, watch out for the bluetack looking heatpad on the graphics chip.
Remove fan from housing.

re-assemble using a cleaned surface of the chip and apply new thermal paste (get the best you can buy, this laptop runs hot)

My dell d620 is very heat using ofter some time fan speed is very slow whate can idow it

It needs cleaning out, there's probably loads of dust/fluff blocking the ventilation slots, CPU fan and air ducting inside.

Noisy Fan in my Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop

Get a can of compressed air used to clean computers.

Put the nozzle on and spray it in every hole you can see without putting the nozzle itself inside the laptop.

Do this outside with glasses on.

laptops should never be used on soft surfaces eg carpet, beds, cushions, etc. Most newer laptops also have more cooling slots / openings. this leads to a fater build up of gunks inside..

Best option is to buy a GOOD 3 fan notebook cooler.

If you are comforatble opening the laptop then that is a better option for cleaning but if not a good laptop repair shop could do this quite cheaply.

It is a common issue with newer laptops

Dell laptop inspiron e1505 no boot green light comes on for about 5 seconds, plugged into a working monitor and still no screen, reset ram, and I dont hear any fans or hard drive running.

could be a case of overheating.
for starters clean the fans with a mild vaccum...
If this doesn't help, the laptop needs to be opened and cleaned up internally, also apply fresh heat release compund to the processor.
That will solve it.

Don't forget to rate this answer if it helps
