SOURCE: I have a pyromaster electric fireplace model HEF

Unplug the motor wire connector and jump it with a 9V. battery. If the motor spins it's good. Chances are the FLAME SPEED CONTOL (Part Number 10001589) circuit board is bad. I had to replace mine. It's at the bottom of the fireplace behind the contols panel.

Good Luck

GW-2078, makes a high pitch noise when fan is running, how can this be corrected, other than that it works fine

Without me physically hearing the noise I can't be certain but it sounds like a bad bearing from what you described. I would try spraying a little WD-40 or some type of lube. If that doesn't work then the fan motor may have to be replaced.

My whirlpool dryer comes on and runs good but it wont get hot can you tell me whats the problem

Hello there and welcome to fixya there are several things that could make this dryer not heat up
Here are the most common things

Thermal Fuse

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, but the drum
turns, check the thermal fuse(s). The thermal fuse protects the dryer
from overheating and helps to prevent fires. If the thermal fuse is
blown, it will have to be replaced.

Enter your model number to see parts for your dryer.

Help me find my model number

Gas Valve Solenoid

The gas valve has two or more electric
solenoids which open the valve to let the gas flow into the burner
assembly. If the dryer doesn\'t heat one or more of the solenoids may be
defective. If the igniter glows for 90 seconds but the burner flame
doesn\'t light, replace these coils as a set.

Dryer Igniter

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the igniter might
be burned out. Check the igniter for continuity with an ohm meter. Dryer
igniters burn out over time, similar to a light bulb.

Heating Element

The heating element on an electric dryer can
burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element should be
checked for continuity. The heating element cannot be repaired and must
be replaced if defective.

Heating Element Assembly

the heating element assembly on an electric
dryer can burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element
assembly should be checked for continuity. The heating element assembly
cannot be repaired and must be replaced if defective.

Flame Sensor

Gas dryers have a flame sensor to detect the
heat given off by the flame. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the flame sensor
might be defective. Check the flame sensor for continuity. This is not
as common as a burned out igniter or thermal fuse.

High Limit Thermostat

Although not common, if the dryer doesn\'t
heat the high limit thermostat can be defective. It can be checked for
continuity. If the thermostat is "open" the dryer doesn\'t heat.

Cycling Thermostat

The cycling thermostat regulates the
temperature of the air in the dryer. If the dryer doesn\'t heat it may be
caused by a defective cycling thermostat. This is not common.

Main Control Board

The main control board is normally not at
fault when the dryer doesn\'t heat. Check all of the other components in
this troubleshooting guide before replacing the main control board. The
main control board cannot be tested easily and must be replaced if it is
defective.

Timer
The timer is normally not at fault if the
dryer doesn\'t heat. In many situations where timers are replaced they
end up being returned. Check all of the more common components in this
troubleshooting guide before replacing the timer

Not a solution, but a problem. I bought a 2078 from Big Lots 2mo. ago. Friday night, nothing. Checked plugin breakers, etc. Finally disaasmblrd the entire thing and checked every led, circuit, etc, and found nothing out of place or burnt. Now What? Taking it back to Big Lots today in a million pieces. Hope they can take a joke. Really like the outfit but need it to work.

Admiral gas dryer model#adg7000aww: rotates but doesn't heat, timer works, very rarely will it actually heat but most all the time it does not.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

If you have already tried cleaning the vent then the problem is with the Thermal fuse. When the thermal fuse goes bad it cannot be reset and replacing it is recommended repair. It is located on the blower wheel housing inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct. You can test it for continuity before replacing. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Goodman model PGB036075-1B will start the gas and the burner but will shut down before blowing heat. Is it a bad switch?

Hello, sounds like either a dirty flame sensor or open limit switch. First try cleaning the flame sensor by turning power off to the furnace and using some steel wool. If the flame sensor checks out good then you limit switch is opening becuase of lack of airflow. check air filter, clean blower wheel, and check to make sure the blower wheel is running at proper speed and not dragging sometimes cause by a weak capacitor.

Flame does not flicke in my electric fireplace

if flame not flickering and you can see the globes lighting flame its the fan that moves the ribbons is faulty unless it has fuse to it which may have blown, but how the flame works is by globes lighting through ribbons that are moved by a fan to give a flicker effect unless its rotating glass wheel like some, that turn with the globes behind that give you a flickering effect its always better with electrical to have an electrician look if it was the globes yes that is an easy replace but to change a fan or rotating glass wheels

Where can I get parts and/or service for my electric fireplace. The ''flame'' does not work. The lights work and the heat works but the ''flame'' does not flicker I live in central Missouri

I think you'll have to replace the entire insert.

I found some at the url below

http://www.electricfireplaces.com/inserts.htm

I have not purchased from them before, but it seems like they have a very good selection.

Flame doesn't flicker

The "flicker" function in my unit operates with a system of rotating, reflective fins. The tiny, AC synchronous motor driving the fins failed and I got one one-line for cheap. A fairly simple R&R.

Only downside is the motor does not always start in the proper direction, but a start/stop or two resolves the issue.
