Question about Sony Televison & Video
I have a Sony HXD870 DVR which is set to PAL-I (I live in the UK) and displays PAL TV signals beautifully. However, when I have tried to plug an Xbox 360 or a Nintendo Wii into its input port (either the SCART on the back or the 3 x composites on the front), even though both consoles are set to display PAL signal, it comes up with the following message:
"TV system of this signal is different from the recorder's setting"
If I go into the PVR's settings and change its 'Input Line System' from 'PAL/SECAM' to 'NTSC', the consoles display perfectly, despite the fact that they're both outputting PAL signal onto a PAL TV - how bizarre!
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

This may be of no help to anyone but I have the same problem and I have spoken to Curtis Support today, they say there is no fix, its a fault in the machine and must be returned to the vendor as they have no service network in the UK. I bought mine with a 90 day guarantee off Ebay and it went faulty after 100 days but probably only used for 3 days so I'm stuffed!!!
