Try a reset to this set and check. If it do not help you, contact any service technician. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset; and the other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

Hi, We have a Panasonic Viera Plasma TV. The TV was on when all of a sudden we heard a few clicking noises and then the picture was lost and a 'no signal' message was displayed. We tried other channels...

It sounds like you have taken the steps to isolate the problem to the TV. it seems to be a bad tuner on the Main board. The no signal displayed indicates the TV is otherwise okay. If you have a DVD player or other source you can connect, and you get a picture, then your TV has a bad tuner for sure.

The color turns predominately green intermittently

Please try to play any DVD movies to determine if the problem is on the TV or on the cable/aerial connection and reception..

If you play DVD and works fine?
The TV is good but the problem is on the aerial antenna if you are using analog..and if you are using digital cable please double check the connection and cable box..or try to contact your cable provider..

Hitachi L42VC04U cant get freeview at all. Freeviewworks fine on another tv

The easiest way to check if the fault is with the TV or the aerial is to plug the TV in where the other WORKING TV is connected to the aerial.

If it works, then you have a problem with the aerial or the aerial cable.

If not check that the TV isn't in analogue mode. Press the "DTV" button on the remote. The TV should display "DTV" in the top corner of the screen.

If you are definitely in digital mode, and freeview doesn't work when the TV is connected to the other aerial connection, then you probably have a faulty TV.

Is the TV new or was it working OK previously?

Please rate my solution if you find this helpful. Thanks.

I HAD TV ON. EVERYTHING WAS FINE. ALL OF A SUDDEN, IT BECAME SNOWY. LIKE THE CABLE WAS OUT. SO, I TRIED UNHOOKING DIGITAL CABLE BOX. AND HOOKING CABLE STRAIGHT TO THE TV. STILL, IT WOULD NOT GO ANY HIGHER...

Try putting your finger over the aerial socket hole behind the TV while TV is on (using your self as an aerial). If snowy disappears then you have an aerial plug/wire disconnection problem.

Nintendo 64 - sound not working on new TV

Because the 64 is somewhat old I would suggest getting an aerial splitter because the system may not be able to function properly with out it. Try it and see how it turns out. Or, if you don't mind, you could play that game on the computer if you have one. Download Project64 from:

Tv works fine if trying to play a dvd but can't pick up tv channels at all now

your tv has a problem in its tuner or intermidiate frequency section.it is better to bring it a service center to repair it.but if your familiar with tv parts and its function perhaps you can resolder the tuner pins and adjust the IF transformer for video which is usually mark VCO in the circuit board.

Snowy picture, no reception?

Hi, Your question "Do bigger TV's need an aerial booster or something?" - No, normally it should work straight out. Boosters are used for fringe location not bigger TV. Pls a questions and some ideas: 1. "TV worked fine the night before" was it hooked up to Cable or aerial? 2. If cable, it is necessary that you change the settings of the TV from cable to STD or Air or something like that. Normally this can be done via the remote, menu, setting, set-up; 3. If aerial, you would probably need the assistance of a qualified service personnel. Apparently something got loose inside the Philips TV, not a big problem because you can still receive (BBC 1) but not the other channels, possibly a loose wiring, a disconnected connector. 4. If you feel comfortable working on it yourself, unplug the tv and the aerial, open the back and poke around. Trace from the aerial jack, the lead wires used, the connector to the main circuitry. Wiggle the wires a bit for any loose connection. 5. If #4 is not to your liking or if you do not find anything or no significant improvement after closing it up and running it again, guess you're back to #3. Hope this gives you some idea. Lots of luck and kind regards from the Philippines.
