ASUS EeePc 1015PEM reboots at windows startup. even with new hdd and fresh install. ok when in bios screen or if i boot into linyx

Which windows OS are you using? windows xp, 7 or 8?
Anyway the problem might be corrupted installation CD. If you install windows on other computer using this CD, so if CD is OK, then
start your laptop and press F8 repeatedly until Windows Advanced Boot Options appears. Then choose automatic restart on system failure. This option will allow you to see Blue Screen Of Death and to understand what causes a problem.

When i am press F2 it show boot missing

If you let the laptop boot up, does it start ok. If it won't startup, then the HDD is defective and needs to be replaced.

Is the win7 legitimate install?

best bet would be to remove hard drive, attach to pc as secondary hdd and save all important docs,

then re-insert back into laptop and press F8 to initiate toshiab opearting system recovery,

Dv6000 will not startup ,Black screen , hd isnit being accessed

When you first turn the laptop on is there a HP splash screen? Can you enter the BIOS (normally by tapping F2 or Del key). If so then it would seem the BIOS updated OK. If when you turn it on there is nothing the BIOS flash probably went wrong and the machine will need a new BIOS flash chip installed.
If you can access BIOS then it may be a simple problem that the new BIOS reverted to default values. The most common issue would be the boot mode of the HDD. Look through the BIOS menus and there should be an option for boot which will say AHCI/IDE/Compatibility. Try changing it to another option, save and exit BIOS and see if that helps. Try this for each option.
Alternatively tap F8 continuously when you turn the laptop on and see if the advanced boot menu appears, if it does try selecting Safe mode with networking.
Finally to test if the HDD is actually working, try downloading Hiren's BootCD and boot to it. Then run some HDD diagnostics to see if the HDD is operating correctly.
Hope this helps,

When I open my compute a box appears and tells me to put in a disk regarding aiosoftwarenpi.

You have an incomplete Hewlett-Packard All-in-One installation.

Reinstall the printer driver, or remove hp install postcheck from the startup (you'll need to use the MSCONFIG utility: Start -> Run command -> MSCONFIG -> OK -> Startup -> (search for hp install or postcheck) -> remove the check -> apply -> close -> reboot to see whether it worked )

Keep turn on and off until the blue light turn off at the left side beside of slot for the SD-MS/Pro-MMC-XD turn off while the other lights is on.When HP logo appears on to the monitor press escape. Wait...

is this a question or are you answering others, on other forums.
i cant tell which?
the first word KEEP, (you meant keeps?)
in any case, that is a dead PC.
int his case old dv6000z , laptop
the BIOS seems ok, and screen is ok ,leaving what in the boot up
sequince of logic, the HDD.
the hard disk then boots, but don't
the 2 top cause (there are more) are hdd bad, or OS is corrupted.
putting VISTA CD (how's CD, MS or HP?) or???? be clear
but this step is last not now.
the next step on all HP PC is to press F11, to fix the startup.
(or f10 used on older XP PCs)
This is the magic HP restore key.
you press it and do a startup repair first
if that key is dead, that means the restore partitions are dead
or the HDD is dead.

the next step is run BIOS and see the HDD test. there.
see that? run it, if it fails the HDD is DEAD. end story
if that passes, hope can happen
use the HP install CDs now.
if you use non HP install media, the story goes why longer
(all missing drivers, all missing HP apps, and more)
that is the full story ,lean.

seems you are on the wrong forum to me, or thought,
answering a question is to start a new post. fail. best i can tell

I don't know what os is?

  1. Start the computer, and then press the F8 key when Windows begins to start. The Windows Advanced Options menu appears.
  2. Use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked), and then click OK.
  3. If a start menu appears, use the ARROW keys to select Microsoft Windows XP, and then click OK

I mean when you normally start your pc do you msn and programs that are set to start on startup
