SOURCE: oven door came off

Just found this posted by tech17 (THANK YOU SO MUCH!) and it worked!
POSTED BY TECH17:
i posted the solution under premium problems i don't know how that works but what you have to do is get a couple of nails pull the hinge on the door down far enough to insert the nails in the holes and let it rest against the door this will hold the door at the proper angle to engage the hooks inside the hinge slots on the body of the range grasp the door on each side and insert the hinges in each side to engage the hooks then open the door all the way and remove the nails

SOURCE: cant get the oven door back on

Use a wrench to lower the hinge arms down. There is a hole in the arm that you can put a nail into through to the frame of the oven/ This should leave the arm in an outward position. Do this on both sides of the oven, or both hinges
Pick up the door, and slide the door onto the arms until they stop.
Press down on the top end of the door lightly so that you may remove the nails inserted above.
Lift the door to close. If you didn't slide the door onto the hinge pieces far enough, then repeat the procedure.

How do I remove oven door

open the oven door all the way and look down at the hinges. there is a little locking clip that you swing into position that locks the hinge from closing. it might be stiff and need some cleaning depending on how old and dirty your oven is. Also you might have to push down on the oven door to make the hinge open fully to get the locking tabs into place. making shore that the locking clips stay in place and hold open the hinge as you lift the oven door slowly towards its closing position and you will see the whole hinge lift up from inside the oven cabinet and the door will just lift out. be careful not to catch your fingers. make sure the looking tabs stay in place during removal as the hinge is very hard to get back into this position again. re fitting is the reversal making sure that you have pushed the base of the door all the way back into the cabinet and push down on the as to open it to release the tabs.

Cannot put the oven door back on

Hi Elspeth:
Don't know what make or model you are dealing with, but from personal experience, here's what I dealt with.
- Oven door is mounted on spring loaded hinges. That's what keeps it in the closed position.
- To remove the door, it has to be fully opened, then lifted from close to the hinges, and slid out.
- To put the door back on, the hinges have to be in the "door open" position. Since they are spring loaded this can be tricky getting them into position.
- It's easier with a helper, one on each side....... slide the hinge legs into the slots. You'll need to lift the door slightly towards the closed position to allow the hinge legs to engage in the secure or latched position.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Ignis AKL828 door hinges locked in shut position... door off oven!

Take a pair of pliers and pull the hinge out of the socket. This will take care of it. After doing this, then simply set te door back in place and shut.

Took the door off my oven to clean it can't get it back on

I put something behind the hinges, usually screwdriver handles, to hold them open long enough to slide the door onto the hinges. If you have the style that has the hinge on the door, you usually have to stick a nail into a hole in the hinge (in the open position), that is designed to hold it in the open position. Install the door, and remove the nail. Another design has a lever that has to be rotated into the locked position on the hinge. You have to be pretty strong for some of these hinges to pull the hinge out enough to lock the lever in place. If this is your style make sure you lock the lever before you remove the door next time. How to put oven door back on after removing!

Although very tight (because the oven is only 1 yr old) i managed to get the hinges into the open position, then slide the door into position on the oven and close the door. The hinges did go back and lock as they should but I struggled for almost 30 mins before success.

How do you put a door on a whirlpool gas super capacity 465

The hinges on OVENS usually fight you trying to install the door.

The trick is that you bring each hinge down and put a nail through a little hole that is usually provided to hold the hinge open.

i suspect you took the door off without locking the hinges
you will have to put the hinges in the lock position before putting back.
lay door on a blanket with hinges upwards. force the hinges back and bring the locking arm up to lock the hinges.
this requires considerable strength

Put back smeg oven door

Yeah I was stumped with this for a short time as it isnt imediately obvious.

The bottom of the two brackets has a flip up catch, place these in the upright position and with some force hook the upper bracket into these catches (please ensure you keep your face and hands away from the direction of the spring)

Once you have the two brackets held open offer up the door at exactly 45 degrees (notice the notch on the underside of both lower brackets) locate this notch on the door hinge hole studs.

Once this is done and your certain it is in the correct postion lower the door from 45 degrees to 90 degrees, put some pressure on the door slightly past 90 degrees and carefully fold down the flip up catches that are holding the upper brackets.
