Question about Fisher Dryers

1 Answer

My Fisher Paykel DEGX1 US dryer has no power after I reset the manual thermostat and vacuumed lint from inside the dryer and outlet pipe. It beeps when I plug it in so power is coming to the unit.

My Fisher Paykel Dryer DEGX1 had no heat. I checked the manual thermostat and it was open so I reset it and vacuumed the outlet pipe and inside the dryer there was a lot of lint. Now the dryer wont power on. I checked the automatic thermostats and they are fine. The manual thermostat checks out as well. I ordered the display panel but the issue is still there. What might be wrong?

If the unit got backed up with lint and over heated then its a good chance that the Non resettable safety temperature switch has gone , you'll find it just by where the pipe exits the dryer , should have two wires on it and should be about the size of a nickel id bet its open .

The dryer is not giving any heat.

Sounds like the heating element has burned out. If it's an older dryer then that's probably the case. If it's newer I would check the warranty.

My fisher paykel dryer is 3 1/2 year old. It works fine on med and low heat. On high heat, it heats up too much and turns itself off

clean the dryer of lint inside and also the vent tube:

My Fisher Paykel degx1 heats but doesn't run long enough to dry, clothes still damp. I set to extra dry, still no luck. Thermostat, and a couple other parts just recently replaced.

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

Fisher & Paykel Auto Sensor Dryer stops & beeps constantly

Hi emkboyce

my Fisher Paykel auto sensor dryer keeps stopping and beeping, i have to stop it and and re start.

I had the same problem. I took it off the wall and vacuumed up all the lint from everywhere including around the back and including taking off the back and vacuuming everything I could reach inside. I then used a damp cloth to get rid of the rest of the lint/dust.

I thought I was wasting my time but guess what, the problem has gone.

Good luck!

Fisher paykel degx1 lint trap won t release

Probably the holder/bearing for is out of place... it is really hard to get it out if this is the case but you can try putting a putty knife in between the top of the lint trap and the bearing and pressing down on the knife. If you get it out the lint scraper will have to be reset, F/P may be able to walk you through this.

Restricted venting is the most likely cause, they did change the thermostats a couple years ago. the small t-stats should look cut out on the metal side they should not be solid, also check to make sure the elements are not shorted to ground.
