We TV technicians don't go into alignment unless absolutley needed. I would stray away from alignments period unless you understand all of the ramifications that come with them.

SOURCE: how to change lamp in mitsubishi wd 73733

Your TV is so-called V-36 chassis.
First shut off TV and unplug it from the wall.
On the back of the TV on the right hand side if look from behind you can locate plastic lamp cover that is removable. Behind the cover you will see lamp cartridge that held in place by screws that you have to loose using screwdriver. Remove lamp assembly and install the new one. Make sure that cartridge is all way in, you have to feel connection plug to be slide-in all the way. Tighten up screws but not too hard.
Reinstall lamp cover. Plug TV into the wall and wait for green LED light to stop blinking. Turn TV set on. It should display message "Power loss, did you replace the lamp?" You hit "enter" on your original Mitsubishi (not the cable box or Satellite box) remote control and this is it.
Regards.
Russ.

How to reset lamp timer

The operator's manual has no reference to a lamp timer. The only user setting associated with the lamp is "Energy" for setting the lamp power to Standard or Bright. I'm surprised; most LCD RPTV sets have a timer that should be reset after replacing the lamp, and the instructions for doing so are given in the manual. The manual for this model only says to replace the lamp if the picture is getting dimmer (page 77).

I got a new bulb and housing and my t.v. still wont turn on...

If you do not miss anything when replacing the lamp try to reset the lamp hour meter, unplug your unit to the main AC outlet, then plug it again, then turn on projectors main switch. Hold down the two arrow buttons and the Power button on the control panel at the same time for 3 seconds. The status indicator will blink twice. The timer will be reset to zero hours. hope this may help good day and best regards.

TV will not power on, strange arcing and poping noise from rear

Even though the Lamp looks good it does not mean that it is. The only way to know is to relace it. If you have already replaced it with a Mitsubishi Lamp Assy. then the Ballast board would probably be the cause.
Hope this helps,

Need to reset lamp timer

The lamp timer expiring would not shutdown the unit typically. Purchase a replacement lamp and included will be the instructions to both replace the lamp and reset the timer.
