Contact support first, also if you return it, you must repack it as it was when you bought it. If you lay it flat the screen may break.

Sounds like the capacitors are failing in its power supply. Replace the capacitors if you are competent or have the TV repaired by qualified technicians.

Can I get a screen of a 50in tv

There is no other way than contact the authorized service center for Philips. It might cost around 2/3rd of the total cost of a new TV, to replace the panel. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I bought a Philips 32PFL3505D tv yesterday and now when i try to turn it on the white light comes on for a second and then turns off. I have tried unplugging it for a minute and putting back in and that...

I think that you should return it to the store where you bought your tv it has a warranty. Do not attempt to open it or the warranty will be void. Good day and best regards

Is magnavox plasma 50in. a good tv whats the lifetime?

depends on the age? As of 2010 it has become a name on an unknown TV. The insides are mad by a 3rd party and Magnavox is just a name badge. THE older sets are Philips brand and have been pretty good sets. SOME power supply problems caused by swollen capacitors. BUT other wise good sets.

I have seen this problem with other Fixya visitors and the solution predominantly is to replace the color wheel on the TV.
