Check that the stitch length dial/lever is set to a longer stitch length. The shorter the stitch length selection, the closer the stitches will be until it will sew in place.

Short of that suggestion, the feed dogs may be frozen. Hand rotate the handwheel and watch the feed dogs. If they are not making a circle (moving toward the back, dropping down below the needleplate, moving forward, and rising again above the needle plate before moving toward the back again).

Why is the needle not moving or feeding fabric but motor is running

the needle only sews,, it's the feed dogs in the needle plate area that feed the fabric thru the machine, if the feed dogs are in the up position then the machine will sew, if the machine is not sewing then the feed dogs need to be checked to see if the feed dog lever is up or down, look in the manual to see where the lever is and check it, if the lever up the then feed dogs will need to be checked to see if there is something's wrong with them at a sewing machine repair shop.

Why is My fabric is not feeding through the pressure foot

the feed dogs are what move the fabric under the presser foot so the needle can sew. check your instruction manual and see where the lever is that operates the feed dogs. if the lever is up then the feed dogs will feed the fabric, if the lever is down, then the fabric will stay in place. if the lever is up and the feed dogs are not working, then it's time to have them checked.

Reverse button broken

the reverse button that makes the machine sew in reverse is not the feed dog, the feed dog is in the needle plate area. under the needle
when the reverse button is broken the machine must be taken apart and another put in it's place, at a sewing machine repair shop.

I have an Elna 2730. the feed dog is not transporting the fabric anymore and the needle just keeps stitching in the same place. is it broken or just needs adjusting?

if you have a manual, look to see where the feed dogs are, if the lever for the feed dogs is in the up position then the machine will sew a straigh stitch
if the feed dog lever is in the down position then it will only stay in one spot,
if you try to push the lever up and it will not stay or stays and will not sew then the feed dogs need to be checked

My Needle just stitch in one place

check in the manual and see where the feed dog lever is a check to see if it's in the up position for sewing or in the down position for darning, if it's in the up position, then the machine needs to be checked to see if there is something wrong with the feeddogs or the feed dog lever..

Feet not feeding and thread bunching up

the presser foot or what ever foot your sewing with does not feed the
fabric,, the feed dogs in the needle plate are what moves the fabric
to be sewed, the feet only hold the fabric against feed dog so the
machine can use the needle to sew the fabric.
if the fabric is not moving then the feed dogs have to be checked
can you see the feed dogs in the needle plate area are the up or
down?
do you have a manual for the machine?
a manual help to know where the feed dog lever is, I'm sending
you a link for a manual for the machine, so you can look for the feed
dog lever, if the feed dogs are up then there is something wrong
with the feed dogs & they need to be checked.
but if the feed dogs are down then look in the manual & see where
the feed dog lever is & put it in the up position & see if that brings
the feed dogs up to the sewing position, if the feed dogs do not
come up then the feed dogs need to be checked.

Machine does not feed properly. It sewed fine for

Hello,
Here are a few solutions to check.

* Check your fabric to make sure it isn't caught on something.

* Check your pressure foot to make sure it's screwed tightly in place.

* Adjust the pressure of your pressure foot as it may be too light or too heavy for your fabric.

* Check your feed dogs for lint. If your feed dogs are clogged with lint, they're not gripping your fabric properly. Remove your pressure foot and clean out any lint with an old toothbrush.

* Raise your feed dogs if your machine has this function. They may have been inadvertently lowered.

* Check your stitch length regulator, If its set at “0” or a very small number, try switching to a longer stitch length.

* Change your needle, it may be damaged.

* Check your needle plate and make sure it's securely in place.

* Use a “Jean-a-ma-jig” or a “Hump-jumper”. If you've been trying to sew over a bump of fabric, such as a thick jean hem, try using this tool (your local fabric store should carry it). It keeps your pressure foot level as you sew over the bump and gives your feed dogs something to grip.

I hope this helps

Why would my Singer 6235 not feed the fabic:

h! there,
fabric moves forward when machine run due to movement of feed dogs, feed dog has a teeth, when your foot presser goes down attached to fabrics the pressure hold the fabric between pressure foot and feed dogs that why when machine run feed dogs pushed fabric when recieved stitch.try to check adjustment of feed dogs it maybe set at rest or neutral.reset it to upward towards needle.check also bobbins thread if accumulation was build up under feed dogs.regard and have a nice day.
