Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines

Whirlpool Washer water inlet valve

I have a Whirlpool washer LSB6300PW2. When the water begins to fill, I hear a sort of high pitch screeching noise for about a second, then all is fine. When the rinse water begins, there is the screech noise again, for about one second, then all is fine again. Also, on occasion, when the water begins to fill, I notice that it seems to be a low flow of water for a few seconds, then all of a sudden it switches to more flow (like the pressure was increased). I'm thinking that the problem lies with the water inlet valve. What is the correct Part # for the Water Inlet Valve? I googled my washer model and all that comes up is is: LSB6300PW1, or LSB6300PW3. But I can't find LSB6300PW2.. I am certain my model is LSB6300PW2 because that is what is imprinted under the top lid of the washer. I am looking for the OEM Genuine Whirlpool part, not a generic. THANKS AND BLESSINGS !! Also, where is the part # imprinted on the water inlet valve? In other words, if I remove the top cover of the washer, would I be able to see the part # imprinted on the water inlet valve without having to actually remove the water inlet valve? (I would like to make sure I order the correct part before removing the existing valve)

Go to the enclosed link with the exact model number of your appliance and you will get the appropriate part number. You can buy from them or check it out on ebay where , very often, the part will be available for less money.

The water valve is working. It only does as told. Faulty water temp switch or yank out the small board and clean the terminals then re insert it and see if maybe corrosion was all that it was. That is what I would try if it was mine.

Does not fill with water.

Is there water getting to the machine? Is the water-volume selector switch set properly and are the control panel buttons pressed in all the way? If you have a Maytag® washer, is the fuse (if there is one) in the control panel at the lid-switch bracket blown? Is there a faint buzzing or humming noise coming from the water-inlet valve? (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If you can't hear anything, the water-inlet valve may not be getting any power. If you can hear some noise and there's water present, you may need to completely replace the water-inlet valve. Replace the "water inlet valve" with this part.

Possibly a bad fill valve. If you're hearing a noise, it sounds like the valve is getting power, but isn't opening to allow water in, or is clogged. I would check your valve inlets on the back of the washer, first. Turn off the water and disconnect the hoses on the back of the washer. The water inlet screens are located in the valve fittings. Take a cotton swap and clean them out thoroughly. If they are clear, you may want to invest in a new replacement valve. Let me know if you need to pursue this option and I can give you the steps necessary to replace. It's not a very difficult repair job. I hope this helps you.
