I have a KD 3070 mated to a NAD PP2 preamp feeding a Kenwood HRF 5080D amp. I get treble but no bass response? Any ideas? thanks

You have either a faulty cartridge or the earth connections to the cartridge are hooked up to the ones for the channels. Another possibility is a faulty lead between the amp and deck.

I have a Kenwood KR V6090 tuner amp. Can anyone please tell me if I need a record deck with or without a pre amp fitted.

Hi. Some amplifiers provide power for a record deck (or you mean a vinyl record player). Some vinyl record player have their one amplification system, some don't. Those with the amplification system work fine on older amplifiers but others require a back-up power, like a transformer to provide power for the record player. You need to enquire with the store person on the type of record deck or record player you can use directly with the V6090. I had an early Pioneer Amplifier and a matching record player so that I could play the vinyl disc and LP's on full volume. Later I switched to digital Pioneer 7 channel. This couldn't accept the record player because it did not have a power substitute like the older Pioneer. So, when the record player plays, no signal is being sent to the amplifier and therefore, no music is heard, except from the needle.

Kenwood KX-79 CW dual cassette hook up?

Just connect the deck via tape 1 the out of the deck going to the in of the amp. While the out of the amp goes to the in of the deck.

The tape deck itself will automatically choose the player that plays the cassette. One will play the other will be on pause (if you press both play buttons) till the tape stops then the other will play. For recording from tape to tape one deck will be the copy and the other the copier. There should be a dubbing button which you press to record tape to tape. Some models have a high speed dub also. For recording from the amp unless both decks have record buttons you will only be able to record with one deck. Make certain the dub button is not set.

Have Kenwood P25 record player and Kenwood Amplifier A-322, on playing record player sound is very quiet. On a previous record player (P-110) there was a switch on the underside.

I can't find either model you mention anywhere but a turntable without a built-in PHONO preamp will require an external on to drive any input not marked explicitly for PHONO.

eBay always has some...

Can I use a Chrysler/Infinity amp with aftermarker JVC radio?

it wouldn't be advised unless there are rca connections into the amp. these are the same as the inputs in the back of the jvc. It is possible to connect into an amplifier using speaker cable but i wouldn;t advise doing this unless you know what your doing.

Turntable starts playing record middle 1st song

The tonearm lift is no longer level as it should be and the arm is sliding along it under gravity as the arm lowers to the record. Has it received a knock?

Have a close look to see whether it has been tilted slightly. That would be enough to give the problem.

I have a record player and d0nt know how to set it up. it is a kenwood kd 38r

Hi ipspencer

First, do you have an amp that has a built in phono preamp. You can determine this from the front panel, there being a Phono input to select. If not, then you will need to get a preamp or you will not get any decent sound from the deck. You can get phono preamps online from here

If you need any more help, or info on how to set it up, just give me a hoy.
