CD Changer doesn't work after changing battery on Jeep Liberty 20

I just changed the battery to my car (2003 Jeep Liberty) and after doing that the CD changer (Pioneer CDX-P680) doesn't work. An error "SA 0" appears on the car stereo display.I already pressed the clear button on the CD changer but nothing happens.I don't want to spend money on fixing this.

The CD changer probably failed to establish it's link to the head unit when you put the new battery in.

Since you've already tried the clear button, I'd suggest unplugging the IP-BUS cable (black cable) from the back of the changer, wait a minute (literally, 60 seconds) and plug it back in.

The unplugging the "black cable" doesn't work - already been down that road. common with RBQ 6-CD player from Chrysler and they won't admit a problem -

Cds are stuck in the changer

Hi.

Ensure that the CD changer is powered, check cable and connection.
Disconnect battery for one minute and try again.
If that does not work, disconnect battery again, and try repeatedly pressing the eject on changer while someone else connect power back.

If that does not work the changer must be taken apart to remove the disks. Disassembly involves removing external cover, and usually it is not too complex.

Regards.

How do you determine between alternator and battery? 2003 jeep liberty frequently won"t start - no radio either, but the lights and windshield wipers do. starts right up when i get it jumped...even after...

the alternator charges the battery so if that happens then your alternator is bad but if you jump it and it works for sometime then i guess ur battery is bad so change the battery

We changed the battery and could not find the radio code.Need ano

These Chrysler Jeep Codes are very hard to obtain for free from anywhere on the Internet.

You could try here

www.ukbookshelf.co.uk

as they offer a few of the older codes for free otherwise you will have to go to your Main Dealer or a Radio Decoding Service

2003 jeep liberty ... cd player plays first 2 songs and then ejects the cd ... have tried the cleaner ... didn't work

Hello, it sounds like you may need to rebuild the CD mechanism. Very likely a new laser and/or spindle motor. I would be happy to assist you with this in more detail. Please feel free to contact us via email at CustomerCare@radiomedics.com or by tel: 877-4-RADIO-MD

I have a jeep liberty that just had a new battery put in and now the cd changer won't work. any suggestions

Alternately, try opening the CD changer door, ejecting the CD carrier and look for a small reset button below the opening. Press this with the tip of a pen and hold it for 10 seconds, then turn the radio/CD on again.

Jammed CD

Hello, I see your post is a few months old. If you still need help or a solution for this problem please feel free to contact me at rcruz@radiomedics.com

The loss of power to the unit should not have affected the CD player. It will re-sync upon powering back on but that is normal.
