You may have to open it up, whatever you do dont try and just pull the tape out you could end up doing more damage.

no there is no trick to it,if you can not free it up by just getting the tape from around the drive wheels or what ever its hung up on then you are going to have to cut the tape.
when you press to get the tape out can you hear the gears trying to eject it out?

How to eject a stuck vhs tape.

I will show you how to eject a stuck vhs tape. I did this on the sony slv-d300p first, unplug it. Next, take out all the screws on the back. Take off the cover. Locate the loading motor on the right. Turn the gears next to it. After about 5 minutes, the tape should eject. While its open, take a CLEAN piece of paper, hold it up to the drum, and rotate it with the paper against the back. after 5 minutes, take the paper off and stop spinning. the paper may be dirty. put the cover back on, and try to put in a vhs c adapter with NO vhs c in it. when you put it in, it should spit it back out.

Vhs tape is stuck and message reads "tape

Unplug the TV/VCR/DVD Combo from the main power for a couple of minutes, the unit may eject the tape at the power ON.
You can also try openening the unit, reset the loading posts and eject the tape by manually turning gears, motors etc..You have to know what you're doing otherwise, you will do more damage or get injured and don't forget HIGH VOLTAGE CAN KILL.

A cassette has jammed inside my vcr machine. It will not move forward or backward Can yoy please help

Hello,

Since the tape won't come out then it means you will have to manually remove the stuck tape. This involves you disassembling the unit in order to help/assist the player get the stuck tape out.

Turn of the unit and remove from the wall, get a Philip screw driver, use it to remove all the screws from the unit and take it apart.

Open the cover and you will see the stuck tape and what's hooking or preventing it from coming out/ejecting.

Now plug the unit, and turn it on. Press the eject button, as the tape tries to come out, support it with your hand so that it can come out.

Or if it happen that the cassette tape has coiled inside the unit, carefully free the coiled tape and the press the eject button.

Lastly, the moment you disassemble the player, you would see what's preventing it from coming out, then you can free whatsoever that is making it stuck press the eject button and the tape should come out.

Make sure the unit is turned off each time you want to remove what's making the cassette stuck.

I hope understand the above explanations.

Good luck.

Well ont eject all the way out

There is a problem with the loading basket, or the VHS tape is stuck inside and the eject mechanism can not cycle the tape out. To check this, open the lid so you can see the tape, if it is wrapped around the head and roller, hit the eject button to see if the tape is being pulled or jammed, cut the tape with scissors to free it up to see if it will pop out. If the tape is okay, it means you have a faulty loading basket.

Take the top cover off, and see if there is an obvious reason for the no-eject, as in tape spooled out and wrapped around something. Next, is the tape drawn back into the tape housing? Under normal operation this is done before eject. A defect in the tape itself, or in the VCR mechanicals can cause a no "pull in" condition. Otherwise, you could carefully try to assist an eject- push eject, lift lightly on the tape. Sometimes the entire carriage mechanism can be removed with tape in place, but often, screws holding this in place are obscured by the tape, and, if carriage is gear driven, proper gear alignment must be reestablished. This can be a tricky problem, getting tape out without damaging anything, especially since late VCRs are made rather fragile to start with.
