HI. the first issue here will be a improperly installed water filter. i recommended checking to make sure the filter was installed correctly. if you have verified the installation of the filter and it is correct, this will confirm an issue that concerns the inlet water valve assembly. this solenoid based valve assembly is a duel valve build that can fail. sometimes they can become sticky or, the solenoid may become sluggish, not allowing the proper movement needed to fully open and close itself during operation.Another problem spot as well will be the actual manifold used to dispense the water to the ice maker assembly. this manifold may have some slight mineral build up that is clogging the holes, in return, slowing the flow of available water.

Check all the areas above for faults. replace the water valve assembly if found to be defective. if the mineral build up is an issue as well, i would advise to extract the entire ice maker Assembly for a thorough rinse off with a quality mineral remover solution material like CRL.

The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the water inlet valve before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip on connectors.
    .
Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush or warm running water. If you cannot clear the clog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves).

Test the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should display a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. Close inspection of the inlet valve and especially the coil may reveal the exact ohm resistance rating to test for. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.

Check the water flow to the ice maker. Turn the supply water off, loosen a fitting near the ice maker and then turn the water on. You should get plenty of water. If it is slow, check the filter.

My frigidaire side by side freezer freezes up and the filter in the refrigerator leaks water. It makes ice fine but will not freeze ice cream. theres a big clump of ice in the back which is under a cover...

the leaking water is the problem. it needs to be fixed, but till then defrost again, use a fan it speeds the process, SHUT OF WTER to ice maker. restart fridge it will work normally. now find parts needed to fix the ice maker water feed.
the leaking water overwhelms the defroster. and causes a coil freeze up, this impedes cooling and air circulation over the evaporator coils

Slow water flow from water dispenser

Check water supply make sure you have ample water and not a kinked connection from supply. It is a common failure on Amana to have a defective Filter/Head assembly.

Insall water filter

there are lots better filters then the ones that go into the fridges install an inline filter into the water line before the fridge that way you filter both the drinking water and the ice maker any hardware store will have them usually your water supply is tapped into the cold under your kitchen sink this is a good place to put the filter if you are connected there

KITCHENAID MODEL KSRJ25CNST-00 FRIDGE QUIT MAKING ICE WITH OUT ANY WARNING. WTER IS WORKING.

I have this model and it has stopped making ice for two different reasons. These solutions may not fix your particular problem, but they worked for me.

Problem #1: the water inlet to the ice tray is frozen shut.
Solution #1: Raise the door that hides the ice tray. The water inlet is the black rubber nozzle on the right-hand side that points down into the ice maker. Squeeze the rubber nozzle between your fingers to break up any ice that may have formed inside the nozzle. This will clear the water path into the ice maker. Lower the ice tray door.

Problem #2: an ice cube is stuck in the ice tray.
Solution #2: Raise the door that hides the ice tray. Look for any pieces of ice that were not completely ejected from the ice tray - they are usually partially ejected and are very easy to see. Carefully (but it may require a good deal of force) remove ice cube from tray. Lower the ice tray door.

I hope this helps.
