SOURCE: furnace will not turn on in Auto mode thermostat

It sounds like you T-Stat is messed up. Look in your manual to see if there is set up instructions. If not I would change the T-Stat.

sounds like you have 24 v going to the g terminal check that otherwise the fan relay in the furnace is stuck closed or the thermostat is defective

Call 1-800-468-1502 for wiring assistance.
You probably have the wrong wire on the R terminal. Make sure that the wire on the thermostat R is the same wire that is on the furnace R terminal.

I Have a honeywell RTH2410 Thermostat I wired it without the blue wire which used to go to X on my old thermostat. Now it comes on with aux heat all the time and I have a Heat Pump. How can I fix this?

What was the old thermostat labels and the wire colors that went to them?
The typical heatpump wiring Terminals are:
R = Red = Hot side of Transformer
C-B-X = Common side of transformer Depending on brand of heatpump
Y = Yellow = Cooling Contactor
G = Green = Furnace Blower
O = Orange Reversing Valve Energize to Cool
B = Blue Reversing Energise to Heat Depending on brand of heatpump.
W2 = White = Auxiliary Heat
You need to be sure where each wire comes from when you connect them to the new thermostat.
The best way to do that is to go to the furnace and see where they are connected. R-Y-G are probably correct, you need to see where the Blue wire comes from and determine what the X terminal was on the old thermostat.

I have two heatpumps up and downstairs and two furnaces (piigy back). At times my pump outside freezes up and cold air blows in the house. I was told that I needed a kit to tell my furnace to turn on when...

Hi,
A couple of things... First your furnace should be 2nd stage on a 2 stage thermostat and if the heat pump don't keep up your furnace should be coming on anyway...If you get a Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 series thermostat for 2 stage heat pump operation and an outdoor sensor, you can have the thermostat shut down the heat pump and start the furnace at what ever temperature you decide...

Secondly, you have a problem with the defrost cycle on your heat pump(s) If they are frosting up that bad at 40 degrees than the defrost is not working on them. If they are hookup up right, every fours hours or so they will go into A/C mode and heat the oudoor coil up to melt the ice off of them. The furnace should be heating while that is happening. Sounds like they really don't know what they are doing when it comes to heat pumps...

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Honeywell T8011r does not have anything on display - does not appear circuit breaker is thrown - could it be wire disconnected at the plate or is there a fuse inside the unit?

Check to see if you have power at the furnace. You thermostat is powered by 24vac coming from the furnace. You should have power on the "R" terminal.

Non-deletable schedule in VisionPRO TH8000

The thermostat has a function called "Adaptive Intelligent Recovery".

This feature allows the thermostat to learn how long the furnace and air conditioner take to reach programmed temperature settings, so the temperature is reached at the time you set. For example: Set the Wake time to 6 am, and the temperature to 70°. The heat will come on before 6 am, so the temperature is 70° by the time you wake at 6.

You can turn off this function. Download the installation guide at the next link:
http://customer.honeywell.com/honeywell/ProductInfo.aspx/TH8321U1006
and look for funcion number 0530 Adaptive Intelligent Recovery. In this manual you also find the way to do a reset with the function number 0710.

I hope this solves your problem.
