Do you or are you very certain that the password used is correct? Many times it is the wrong password that is needed to access the router.
Which brings up why did you post under routers and not phones or android?

1. Enter a SSid this will be the network name you see when you want to connect to your own network. example.. MyHome
2. Select your security option then click next. (For simplicity chose WEP)
3. click apply.and let the router reboot.

when it comes back online you should see your network you just setup. our example was MyHome.
If you are new to router setup. use the Wep security called Good on your routers security WEP. and just write the key it gives you down. this is the code you need to connect your devices and is considered ok for a simple home network.

1. Connect D-link Router to your computer

Your computer should be connected to the LAN port of using an Ethernet cable.Power on the router after connecting the router to your computer.

2. Log on to D-link Wireless Router

To logon to wireless router type the default IP address of the router on the address bar. The default IP address of the D-Link router is 192.168.0.1

Before log on to the router it will ask you the user name and password. For a default D-link router

User Name : admin
Password :admin(Flip the router over to know the default username and password)

3. Click on Setup Wizard

To configure the router in an easy way click on the button Setup Wizard.

4. Click on Launch Internet Connection Setup Wizard

To configure the internet connection in this D-link router, click on the button Launch Internet Connection Setup Wizard.

I lost my password to my netgear. How can I retrieve it?


Go to NETGEAR Router.

After connecting the Router into your network, you must configure it. You can do this using the Smart Setup Wizard -- where the wizard will attempt to auto-detect the type of Internet service you have through your ISP -- or you can configure the router manually. It is recommended that, if you aren't used to setting up Internet connections, you let the Smart Setup Wizard do some of the work for you.
To configure the router, you'll use the information that you filled out earlier in the Installation Guide.
To get started:
  1. Select Yes if you want to use the Smart Setup Wizard.
    or
    Select No to configure the router manually.
  2. Click Next.

Required Items

- Windows ME, XP, Vista
- PC with dial-up connection working
- Ethernet Cable (RJ45) cable or CROSSOVER CABLE
- Xbox 360

Let's Get Started

1. First connect the Xbox 360 and the PC using the Ethernet cable.
2. Double Click your Dial-up Network connection and wait for it to connect.
3. Choose "Start Menu" and then choose "Settings" then "Control Panel".
4. Select "Network and Internet Connections".
5. Open the "Network Setup Wizard" and then press "Next".
6. On the next screen Ignore the checklist and press "Next" again.
7. Select "This Computer connects directly to the internet." and press "Next".
8. Now Select your dial-up internet connection as your default connection to the Internet and press "Next".
9. Select "Local Area Connection" as your private connection and leave all other areas untouched and click "Next".
10. On the Workgroup screen leave all settings alone and click the "Next" button.
11. On the next screen Turn on "File and Printer Sharing" if you want to share your files, mp3's, divx files with your xbox 360 and click "Next".
12. Now review the settings and click "Next" to apply the changes.
13. You do not need to run the Network Setup Wizard on any other pc's so just click "Next" and continue.
Now that the wizard has completed you may need to reboot your PC and dial your internet connection again.

Now we have configured your PC to share its internet connection and files to your Xbox 360 we need to configure the Xbox 360.

1. Go to the "Xbox 360 Dashboard".
2. Select the "System" Blade.
3. Select the "Network Settings" Option
4. Now choose "Test Xbox LIVE Connection".

Your Xbox 360 will now attempt to contact your home network. It will check to make sure it can assign itself a IP ADDRESS from your PC and then it will also check DNS server information and XBOX LIVE.

so i will tell you the steps to configure it wireless on the computer

for that you should have a wireless router and the computers should be connected to the router
now follow the following instruction to configure the printer

Connecting the unit to the computer


Press the Setup button on the all-in-one.
Press the arrow buttons until Network displays and then press OK . The Network menu displays.
Press the arrow buttons until Wireless Setup Wizard displays and then press OK .
Follow the instructions in the Wireless Setup Wizard.
it will ask for the router password you should know the router password to connect
After the all-in-one connects to the network, install the product software on the computer.

insert the software cd and install it using network wired/wireless
and complete the installation and similarly install on the other computer as well

Netgear ps121 won't print


Possible reason why you cannot print with the print server is because the computer is not getting a valid IP from the router or a firewall is installed in the computer. You have to disable all firewalls installed in the computer.

For the print server setup, please follow the steps below:

Note: Before setting up the print server, make sure that you can print when printer is connected directly to the computer.

1. Wire the print server to router. Check the lights on it. It should have the ACT light on and the Error light off.

2. One way to test if the printer would work with the print server is to reset the print server for 3 to 5 seconds while it is powered on and after you release the button, the printer should automatically print the IP address of the print server.

Note: If the printer did not print, there is a possibility that they are not compatible. However, you may still continue to try to set up the print server.

3. Install the PS121 software.

a. Power on your computer, let the operating system boot up completely, and log in as needed.
b. Insert the Resource CD for the PS121 into your CD-ROM drive. The CD main page shown at the right will load.
c. Click Install Software.
d. Click Next and follow the software installation utility prompts to complete the software installation.
e. When prompted, restart your computer to complete the installation.
f. When your computer restarts, click Finish to run the Print Server Setup Wizard.

4. Run the Print Server Setup Wizard to Set Up a Fixed IP Address for the PS121.

a. The Print Server Setup Wizard screen should be displayed.
b. Click Next to proceed. The Print Server Wizard will now search your network for the PS121. If the Print Server Setup Wizard cannot find your PS121, check the network connections and status lights on the PS121.
c. The “Server Name” and the “IP Address” your network assigned to the PS121 are displayed. Click Next to proceed to the device name screen.
d. You can enter a descriptive Device Name and Domain Name or accept the defaults. Click Next to proceed to the IP Address configuration screen. The Print Server Wizard displays a recommended static IP address setting for the PS121. This is usually fine.
e. Click Next to proceed.
f. Click Finish to exit the Print Server Setup Wizard. This completes the configuration of the PS121 for operation on your network.
g. Click Yes to run the Add Printer Port Wizard. Follow the instructions in the next section for using the this wizard to set up each computer to use the PS121.

NetGear PS121 Print Server Problem


Here are some troubleshooting steps that I suggest you try:

1. Check physical connections.

a. Connect the modem to the Internet port of the router. The Internet “i” LED on the front of the router should light up.
b. Connect the computer to one of the four LAN ports (i.e port 1, 2, 3 or 4) on the back of the router. The corresponding port light where you connected the computer should be lit up.

2. Access the router's web-based utility.

a. Please open any web browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
b. Connect to the router by typing http://routerlogin.com/basicsetting.htm or http://192.168.1.1 in the address field and click Enter or Return key.
c. A window will prompt for a user name and password. By default, the user name is "admin" and the password is "password".

Note: If you were unable to access the router's web-based utility, you may reset the router to restore the settings to factory default.

To reset the router:

a. Please push the reset button at the back of the router and release after 30 seconds.
b. Unplug the power adapter for 10 seconds and then plug it back in.

3. Configure the router.

If your Internet Service Provider is using a cable connection, please follow the steps below:

a. Click on Basic Settings under Setup tab.
b. Select No for Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login?.
c. Scroll down on the center page and look for the Router MAC Address section. Set it to Use computer MAC address and click on the Apply button.

If your Internet Service Provider is using a DSL connection, please follow the steps below:

a. Click on Basic Settings.
b. Select Yes for Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login?.
c. Select Other on the Internet Service Provider drop down box.
d. Enter your ISP's username (username@ISPdomain) and password. Then, click on Apply.

4. Configure the wireless settings.

a. Click on the Wireless Settings under Setup.
b. Change the SSID to any unique name.
c. Scroll down, look for the Security Options settings and select WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy).
d. Set the Authentication type to "Automatic" and the Encryption Strength to "64bit".
e. Leave the Passphrase field blank, select Key 1 and enter a 10-digit number.

Note: The 10-digit number you typed in the key 1 will be the password or network key for the wireless connection.

f. Click Apply button to save the changes.
g. Go to Router Status under Maintenance tab and check if there is an IP address under Internet port. If it's 0.0.0.0, do a power cycle.

5. Power cycle.

a. Power off the modem, router and computers.
b. Turn on the power of the modem first and wait for it to initialize, the lights to stop blinking.
c. Power back the router and the computers. Check if it will be able to get online.

If you have wireless computers, you can connect them wireless to the router. Kindly follow the instructions below:

6. Connect wireless computer to the router.

If you are using Windows XP with Service Pack 1, please follow the steps below:

a. Please right click on the Wireless icon on the right lower end portion of your computer.
b. Then click on View Available Wireless Networks.
c. Click on the Advanced tab.
d. Please delete all the preferred networks then click on OK.
e. Right click on the Wireless icon again and click on View Available Wireless Network. Please select your network and click on Connect. It will ask you for the network key.
f. Please type in the network key and then confirm it. Network key is the password you type on the key 1 of the wireless settings of the router.
g. Make sure not to enable IEEE and then click on Connect.

If you are using Windows XP with Service Pack 2, please follow the steps below:

a. Please right click on the Wireless icon on the right lower end portion of your computer.
b. Then click on View Available Wireless Networks.
c. Click on the Change Advanced Settings.
d. Click on the Wireless Networks tab remove all the preferred networks then click on OK.
e. Right click on the Wireless icon then click on View Available Wireless Networks.
f. Select your network and click on Connect.
g. It will ask you for the network key. Type in the network key and confirm it. Then click on Connect. Network key is the password you type on the key 1 of the wireless settings of the router.

If you are using Windows Vista, please follow the steps below:

a. Click Start then select Connect To.
b. Connect to a network window will show up.
c. Select your wireless network and click Connect.
d. It will ask you for a network key. Type in the network key and confirm it. Then click on Connect.

From the above configuration, please check if you can now access the Internet.

For the print server setup, please follow the steps below:

Note: Before setting up the print server, make sure that you can print when printer is connected directly to the computer.

Dear This is the step You can get a complete home network up and running in 10 easy steps. Here's a summary of what's involved: Take stock of your existing hardware. If you wish to share an Internet connection using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS), choose which computer will be your ICS host. Decide what type of network technology you wish to use. Make a list of the hardware you need for each computer. Install the network adaptors and install your modem on the ICS host computer. Physically cable the computers together. Switch on all computers, printers and other peripherals. Make sure the ICS host is connected to the Internet. Run the Network Setup Wizard on the ICS host. Run the Network Setup Wizard on the other computers on the network. Let's take that step by step. 1. Take stock of your hardware Note each computer's location and its hardware, including peripherals such as printers and modems. 2. Choose your ICS host If you wish to share an Internet connection between your computers using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS), choose which computer will be your ICS host. The ICS host has a direct connection, either by dial-up modem or high-speed link, to the Internet and provides access to the Internet for other computers on the network. Ideally, the host should be a computer running Windows XP. I'll assume you have made this choice in the following steps. Apart from XP's easy handling of ICS, by using an XP computer as your ICS host you get the benefits of using the Internet Connection Firewall. 3. Choose a network technology The most common choices are Ethernet and wireless LANs. For an Ethernet LAN you will need to install a network interface card, or NIC, in each computer and run cabling between the computers. If you don't like the idea of opening your computer to install a network card, look for a USB adaptor instead. Depending on the size of your network, you may also need a network hub or router to provide interconnection between PCs on the LAN. Two PCs can get by using an RJ-45 crossover cable; three or more computers require a hub or multi-speed hub (called a switch). If you have a high-speed Internet connection, a high-speed router is a good option. The Network Setup Wizard includes links to detailed advice about configuring your network, including help on designing a network layout to suit your home. If you opt for a wireless LAN, you'll also need a NIC for each PC (there are versions which use USB adaptors as well). The big benefit for home environments is that a wireless LAN does away with the need for cabling. On the down side, though, wireless LANs tend to be slower, less robust and appreciably more expensive than traditional Ethernet LANs. In particular, wireless LANs do not always live up to their stated working range, and you may find factors such as your home's construction and design, plus interference from other devices affect your wireless LAN's performance. You may need to add an expensive Access Point to extend the range of the LAN and, even so, it may not be sufficient. The bottom line is, if you decide to go the wireless route, make sure the store will refund your money if the LAN will not provide reliable performance within the specified range. 4. Make a list of hardware needed Make a list of the hardware you need for each computer, not forgetting any cabling, and buy it. If you're a little dazzled by the choices and configurations, consider purchasing a networking kit. These kits contain all you need to set up a two- or three-PC network. If possible, look for hardware which features the Windows XP Logo, indicating it is fully compatible with XP. 5. Install the adaptors Install the network adaptors and install your modem on the ICS host computer (you can also let the computers connect to the Internet independently by installing modems on each). 6. Cable the computers Physically cable the computers (and hubs or routers) together. Of course, you won't need to do this if you've chosen to go the wireless route. If you're installing an Ethernet network and have a lot of cabling work to do, you may prefer to get a professional to come in and do this work for you. It won't be cheap, but you can be sure you get the job done correctly and hopefully with minimal damage done to walls, ceilings and floors. 7. Switch it on Switch on all computers, printers and other peripherals. 8. Connect the ICS host Go to the ICS host computer and make sure it is connected to the Internet. 9. Run the Network Setup Wizard on the ICS host To run the Network Setup Wizard on the ICS host, click Start -> Control Panel -> Network And Internet Connections -> Setup Or Change Your Home Or Small Office Network. Follow the instructions in each screen and press Next to continue. XP's Network Setup Wizard takes much of the pain out of setting up a home network. The Network Setup Wizard will guide you through: Configuring your network adaptors (NICs). Configuring your computers to share a single Internet connection. Naming each computer. (Each computer requires a name to identify it on the network.) Sharing the Shared Files folder. Any files in this folder will be accessible to all computers on the network. Sharing printers. Once you've completed setup on the ICS host, take the floppy to the next computer and insert it in the drive. Double-click My Computer. Double-click 3½ Floppy (A:). Double-click netsetup.exe. The quickie XP network If you want a really easy networking experience and you have the hardware to support it, consider clean installing Windows XP on two or more computers. First install your network hardware (network interface cards, cabling, et cetera), then perform a new installation of Windows XP. During installation, XP will sense your hardware setup, ask for a name for each computer, and then ask which type of setup you wish to create. Select Typical Settings For A Default Network Configuration. That's it. Provided your hardware is XP-compatible, XP will create a LAN using the workgroup name MSHOME. Using your network Once you have your network up and running, you can easily access other computers on the network via My Network Places (click Start -> My Network Places). The Task Pane in My Network Places lets you access computers on your network and adjust settings. The Task Pane in My Network Places lets you view your network connections and view each of the computers in your workgroup (the workgroup consists of all computers on a network which share the same workgroup name ? by default, XP gives all computers on your home network the workgroup name MSHOME, although you can change this if you wish). When you initially open My Network Places, you'll see icons for the Shared Files folder of each of the active network computers. Sharing a printer With your home network installed, your PC suddenly gains all the advantages of the other PC's on the network. If you've been lusting after your sister's colour photo printer, you can now print directly to it from your own machine. Provided, that is, your sister decides to share her printer. (You might offer to let her share your laser printer in return as an inducement ? sharing works both ways.) To share a printer, on the computer which is directly connected to the printer: Click Start -> Control Panel -> Printers And Other Hardware -> Printers And Faxes. (Note: These steps will be a little different if you're sharing a printer on a PC running a version of Windows other than XP. For example, under Windows Me, you click Start -> Settings -> Printers.) Click the printer you wish to share. Click Share This Printer in the Task Pane. In the printer's Properties dialog, click the Sharing tab. Click Share Name and OK. Make a printer accessible to others on the network by sharing it. Once a printer has been shared you can access it from other computers on the network. To do so: Click Start -> Control Panel -> Printers And Other Hardware. Click Add A Printer. In the Add New Printer wizard, when asked whether the printer is a local or network printer, select the latter. In the next screen, select the option to Browse For A Printer and click Next. Select the appropriate printer from the list and continue with the wizard. Sharing files and folders Sharing a folder is even easier than sharing a printer: Open a folder (such as My Documents), click Make A New Folder in the Task Pane and name your new folder. With the new folder highlighted, click Share This Folder. In the Sharing tab of the Properties dialog box, select Share This Folder On The Network. Provide a descriptive name for the folder. This name should make it easy for others on the network to recognise the folder; it doesn't have to be the same as the folder name you selected in step 1. You can let other people on the network view and edit your files or view them only. If you want to protect your files from tampering, remove the tick from Allow Other Users To Change My Files. There are a variety of ways to access a shared folder. Here's one way: Click Start -> My Network Places -> View Workgroup Computers. Click the computer whose files you wish to access and then click the shared folder. You can create shortcuts to shared folders to make them easier to gdfgf
