The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

TV MADE POP NOISE, REMOTE WOULD DO NOTHING, SCREEN WAS FROZEN WTH VERTICAL LINES THROUGH PICTURE AND HAD TO UNPLUG TO TURN IT OFF.. CAN IT BE REPAIRED? iF SO, WHAT WOULD IT COST? THANKS!

That's a weird one. Weird because of the pop, which is most commonly caused by a power or inverter board and the fact that you say you've seen vertical images on screen afterwards, which rule out both of those.

I'd still suggest you start out by checking the power board. It's a common failure in these TVs.

Here's a guideline, I think the board is practically the same (contact me offline if it is not):
http://blog.coppelltvrepair.com/2010/09/how-to-test-power-supply-r0804-0901.html

Once you rule out the power board your next best candidate under the circumstances is the LCD controller (little rectangle board in the middle top at the back of the LCD panel) and , finally, the main board.

The fact that there's been a pop also makes it easier to find traces of defect on the boards...you just have to look for them. It's not that easy since , for example, on the power board it may as well be on the back which is hidden. The LCD controller board is also hidden.

Hope this gives you a starting point.

If it helps please rate it...we need your support as much as you need ours and even more since we have to still earn some money for what we do :-)

I have a 42" legend tv with power supply board 667-ps42d8-20, all capacitors look good but i know one or more are shot. Have you ever dealt with this tv and power supply

I just inherited the same tv from my girlfriends parents. They say they heard a loud pop and the screen went black. When I turn the tv on I hear a strange noise coming from the power supply board. It sounds like it is coming from one of the yellow capacitors (sorry if there not capacitors new to tinkering). I have read that it could be the y sus board but I feel like its the power supply board. If you have found any solutions please help me out. Thanks

TV will not power on.

I guess your TV is DLP.
Please notice the follow symthoms:
When you on TV, did you hear some strange noise from the back of the TV. If yes, the color wheel needs replacing.
If no, check the lamp. Take a look to bottom of lamp, you will see white pot or sometime a pop up there due to lamp cycle is going to end. When changing lamp, check the ballast and power sup, too. If you see caps are poping up. Pull out those board and replace the poped caps.

Light inside won't go on after replacing light bulb. Noise coming from underneath refrigerator.

I replaced a circuit board that is in the white box at the lower left rear of the fridge. You will need to remove the cardboard cover, then there is two screws to loosen the box. The circuit board is inside. There is a white tab that sticks up push it sideways and it will pop right out. Put the plugs in the new board and pop it back in and put everything back together. Be sure the wires are routed so they do not contact the compressor.
If you want to test it first get a voltmeter one probe to CN1, the white wire, and the other to CN2, yellow wire with red stripe, there should be 120 volts. If not, or when the door is open it drops replace the board.
I did not have a voltmeter but it seems everybody that had a problem the fridge was 4 to 5 years old. So I bit the bullet, around $90.00, and replaced it and it works!
