SOURCE: High speed spa pump shuts off
The motor may have a thermal cutoff if the motor draws too much current. Do you have a sufficient large gauge circuit supplying the motore? If not the actual voltage at the motor may drop, causing it to draw more current to make up for the loss of voltage, thereby tripping the motor's protective breaker. I assume the motor will start again after serveral minutes of cooling down.

If you've made no changes to the wiring from when it worked correctly, then it can only be the switch. Get a new one, switch off the breakers, and wire it in according to the instruction that come with it.

SOURCE: I have a VITA Spa
Is there a type of resistor on the motor? Or anything between the wire and the motor? If not, then disconnect the speed selector switch, hook an ohmmeter up to it on the rx1 position and test the switch in all positions. If you don't get a reading on high, then the swith is bad, If you do get a good reading on high, then the pump could be bad.
You can also test the pump as well.
