SOURCE: dyson dc11 makes a groaning sound and no suction

It is more than likely that you've caused blockage in your turbines. Plaster dust is very very fine and will have passed through your filter quite easily. It's also more than likely that the plaster dust has affected your motor.

If you turn it on and you hear popping, then motor is more than likely deceased. If you hear something like a valve releasing when you turn the machine off then there may be a blockage.

Probably best to refer to your local Dyson via www.dyson.com

SOURCE: Dyson DC11 cut out whilst in use and won't start

I have read that it is due to an internal safety mech. that reacts when the motor is pulling to much current and shuts down for safety. If you only get 5 min or so before it happens then that is your problem. Dysons have no reset switch so you cannot force it and some other brands take 24hrs to reset. Make sure you have no clogs in you vac. If none exist then I would refer to the company. good luck!

Root cyclone 12 loss of suction. How do I solve as both filters have been cleaned

Hi Pat, it's Jack at Dyson.

Performance issues are usually simple to resolve. DC11 has two filters - the 2-part pre-filter (the yellow plastic outer casing the the blue foam inner section) should be washed at least once every three months. The post-filter is engineered to last the lifetime of the machine without maintenance or replacement. If you have washed the post-filter, unfortunately this may have caused damage and we would recommend replacing it.

It sounds as if your machine has a blockage somewhere in the floor tool, wand or hose. To locate and remove this please follow the steps shown in our online support guide: http://www.dyson.com/support/dc11/dc11-sy-allergy/using-my-dyson-list/redirect-to-dc11filterwashvid/dc11filterwashvid/flo-dc11-gen-blockage-procedure6

If you'd like some further advice from our experts after you've given this a try, please call us directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

My dc11 has suction through the hose but when put foot on it dont suck up

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC11. To determine why the machine doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual through the turbine head, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc11/dc11-all-floors/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/how-to-wash-filters/check-seals-for-damage

In normal use, the filter needs to be washed at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for the filter to dry completely somewhere warm before replacing it.

This should resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further assistance, please give our customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

Reset dyson dc11 overload cut off

Hi there,

If your DC11 shut itself off during use, it may have overheated - you should find that it will run again after it's had at least 2 hours to cool down.

Although I note you've already checked for blockages, you may want to run through the steps shown in our online Support guide to make sure you haven't missed anything:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=347&product=DC11-SY-ALLERGY

The filter may also need a wash. In normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for the filter to dry completely somewhere warm before replacing it.

Following these steps shown should prevent the issue from reoccurring. If you'd like any further assistance or advice, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

Jack

Power head to my compact dyson just stopped working and i have power all the way to the connection

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

The Turbine head on the DC11 range is not powered by a motor, it is air driven. If the performance of this tool has reduced, this is most likely caused by a dirty filter or a blockage in the head or the machine.

To clear, please visit our support section online at www.dyson.com.

If you have a different product that does have a motorised head, you will also be able to locate information on how to reolve this via the online support section.

I hope that this information is useful to you.

Kind regards
Darran
