SOURCE: Maytag Neptune gas dryer beeps.

NO RESETS OTHER THAN TO UNPLUG THE DRYER FOR 5 MINUTES, THEN RECONNECT POWER. ON ANY ELECTRONIC CONTROL, THIS WILL RESET THE CONTROL'S MICROCOMPUTER. IF THAT DOESN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM, THE TOUCH SWITCH MAY BE FAULTY.

SOURCE: Dryer keeps burning out thermal fuse and thermostats

If the thermal fuse and thermostat are bad, something is causing them to overhea,t before tackling the heating element, you should check all connections to the stat and fuse as a loose connexion could be the cause of the over heating.

I have changed the thermal device and still not heat

There are several devices in your system. You replaced the the thermal cut out designed to interrupt power when the temperature reaches 250 deg F. A thermal fuse is also installed which "blows" at 390 deg F. A third control device is the thermister which signals the control board to control air temperature. When it fails the system is designed to generate signal such as beep-beep-beep. To test the heater itself you can disconnect one end and measure resistance to determine that the heater is not burned out. Also you can read the voltage applied across the heater (if there is voltage but no heat the heater need replacing)
The control board gets a signal from the sequencing system. The manufacturer will provide a schematic for your machine if you ask.

Thermal fuse failure

If the relay sticks, that will cause overheating and the thermal fuse to blow.

Electric Whirpool Ultimate Care II Dryer, runs but no heat.

Hi

I believe that everything else is fine rather it is the thermal fuse that is located inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct that is bad and should be replaced. If you want you can test this fuse for continuity and if it is bad then it should be replaced, as it cannot be reset. If the fuse is fine then it can be due to the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

My dryer will not work. everytime I press a button it just beeps

Hi,
If the beep sound comes from the inside of the unit then it is the thermal fuse that is bad, you can test it with a voltmeter before replacing. This fuse is located inside the rear panel and it cannot be reset. If the fuse tests fine then it is the main board that has gone bad & you will have to replace it to solve this issue.
Hope this will help....

+I can select a drying cycle, panel lights go on, but when I close the door and push start I get a series of beeps and the cycle will not begin.

Hi

The issue seems to be either with the Thermal fuse which is located inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct or the control board itself has gone bad. You can take a voltmeter and check the thermal fuse for continuity, if it is open then replace the fuse else the control should be replaced to solve this issue. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I have a whirpool duet. The lights on the front panel light up, but the dryer will not start. I just hear a click and then nothing ????

Remove bottom panel and check the thermal fuse just behind the ducting. If this is blown it's a inexpensive fix. If it's good you may have a bad control board. Remove control board an inspect the back side of it for burning.

Replace thermal fuse and door latch and still does not run. Power on and beeps once.

Was the thermal fuse blown?
Look at the led indicators on the front of the dryer are any of them lit but very dim? If so it will be a loose connection on the flat cable assemblies 4 each from the interface panel (one with the lights and knob) to the control board located on the top left side of the dryer. If that does not work then Interface board then control board in that order.
If the led indicator appear normal then id look at the control board.

Whirpool dryer won't heat up

You need to replace the thermal fuse and the timer. A bad timer will over draw a thermal fuse and cause it to blow.

Please remember to unplug the dryer before servicing
