I experienced similar problems with my E2, until I reset the battery. Let me know if you are uncertain how to reset (remove and reinsert) the battery. No soldering is needed.

When i try to sync i get a Fatal Alert MemoryMgr.c,Line:3751,Free handle?

To get rid of the Fatal Alert, perform the Hard Reset on the device.

Note:
A hard reset will erase everything on your device. All your data will be removed, and formats, preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings.

Follow the steps below to perform a hard reset on your device.

  1. Open your handheld.
  2. Press and hold the power button on the top panel of the handheld.
  3. While holding the power button, use the tip of your stylus or an unfolded paper clip (or similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button. (The reset button is the tiny hole labeled Reset on the back of the handheld.)
  4. Wait for the Palm Powered logo to appear; then release the power button.
  5. When prompted that you are about to erase all the data stored on your handheld, press Up to complete the hard reset.
  6. When prompted, complete the steps to align the screen.

Fatal Alert Datamgr.c,Line7564 InvalidUniqueIDPassed I get this when I synchronize.

Perhaps you haven't tried performing a more severe reset to break the freeze. You might want to try doing a hard reset. This will erase all data from your hand held so make sure you have everything backed up on your computer so you can sync it again after the hard reset. Note, when I occasionally receive a Fatal Alert error, the Reset on-screen button almost never responds to a tap...I invariably have to depress the reset button in the back of my E2. http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,case=obj(26419) resets:
http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,case=obj(887) Depending on a variety of factors including the available memory on your E2 and other installed applications, the problem might or night not be caused directly by the program you were trying out. But once you get the E2 unfrozen, you should refer to this article to troubleshoot the cause of this apparent software conflict:
http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,Case=obj(27908) Also, I recommend going to the developer of the software you are using, to determine whether there are any compatibility issues at their end, and whether they have an upgrade available.

Here are the directions for the hard reset.

1. Press and hold down the power button.
2. While holding down the power button, use the tip of your stylus (or a similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button inside the hole on the back of your handheld.
3. Wait for the Palm Powered logo to appear and then release the power button.
4. When you see the message that warns you about erasing all your data please continue and then follow the on screen directions.

If this doesn't help then I recommend going to www.palm.com. From there you will need to select PDA's and then the model of yours. It will go to another screen and you should be able to contact palm via free chat. I have had to do this several times and both times I got fast service. Hope this helps.

Everytime I use the search fuction I get a fatal alert message

Make sure you have over 25% remaining space on your HandHeld and try again. Otherwise try a hard reset: Hold down the power button and click the reset button.

Fatal alert

This is a common problem with the Tungsten line, You can try doing a hard reset. This worked for my E2. If that doesn't work, the battery must be removed for a few hours. Although it still may not work after the battery removal.

** To preform a hard reset, hold down the power button, and push the reset button on the back of the unit. The top of your stylus unscrews to expose a "plastic pin" for this purpose. Keep holding down the reset button while the unit reboots. You should see a palm screen displayed while it restarts, let go of the power button and follow the instructions. Pressing up on the pad ring should erase all data.

Fatal Alert

Though Docs to Go is supported by Palmone, it is still a 3rd party software and will jam your unit like you wouldn't believe. I reloaded mine 15 times before I gave up and quit using it. The Fatal error is an all out jam. The Docs can even duplicate themselves and yes you end up dumping the program from your e2 and reloading before it will work again. The e2 is good and I made mine do internet wirelessly but could never whip Docs.
