Question about KitchenAid Washing Machines
You mention not spinning, so I assume that you have agitation.
It is a good news since your motor is good.
Your motor was designed to rotate in 2 directions. One for agitation and the other for spinning. in order for it work like this design . There are 2 mechanisms involved to deliver its functions.
The agitation is simple just the plastic Helix.
The spinning is more complicated. We just focus on the spinning.
The motor turns the pulley by the belt it ill push up the clutch to release the brakes and engage with the gear shaft so the tube can spin.
If you open the front panel, you can use hand to turn the belt into directions as I described earlier. Try to turn the belt in the direction of spinning, you will see that it can never engage to make the tube turn. That mean the height of the pulley got shorten due to frictions with the clutch due to aging, It needs to be changed.
The part is cheap and simple, but it takes time and a hard work to take it out for replacement. If you think you can do this, then why not. But you let professional to take care of it, at least you know what they are talking about. Cheers.
